Mark Cunningham: I am optimistic that Leicester City will flourish under Brendan Rodgers. Ayoze Perez looks a class act to me. Vying to break in to the top six is a tall order but not impossible. The first five games will tell us more.

finediningmatt: I fancy LCFC for top 4 under Rodgers but fear for Man United. They could finish bottom half of the table with Ole at the wheel and the Pogba club still running! Some fans think Greenwood will make a difference - you don't win things with kids

It's pelting it down at St James' but these hardy few kept their word and met to protest against Mike Ashley's Newcastle ownership.

It's been a familiar sight for more than a decade but they seem really riled this year following the departure of manager Rafael Benitez.

They won't be attending, but it will be interesting to see how many in total don't turn up to watch their beloved Magpies.

    Karen Carney
England women's winger on BBC 5Live

On David Luiz at Arsenal: "He is fun but then there is a very serious side to him. He is very mentally strong. He will go to Arsenal and have a point to prove, he will go to Arsenal with a bit of a chip on his shoulder. He is very fun, he is a massive character, but he can be serious and when he has a job to do he will go and do it. I will be really intrigued to see how he gets on. He has worked with the manager before so obviously that is a massive pull as well."

On Luiz helping Carney through injury: "He will be good for the younger players as well. When I was out injured he came and spoke to me quite a lot, talked to me about his experiences of injuries and various things. I was really low, I was thinking that I had ruined my season because Chelsea (Women) were flying. He came out of his way – he wasn’t even training – and then kept that report with me ever since. He then took the team out when we won the double, paid for it all. He was very keen to get the women integrated because he really cared. He will do the same at Arsenal, he’s going to be a good addition."

Steve Long: Newcastle will obviously struggle this season, too few Premier League quality players, especially in their squad outside the first team, one long term injury, for their first team and that could be it for Newcastle, for some time.

Johnny Magrinho: Weak Arsenal squad? Looks good to me. Mix of youth and experience. Only weakness in the context of this game is Maitland-Niles. That's where Newcastle will be putting every ball. Could be an upset but Newcastle are Newcastle after all. Routine away win for me. 1-3.

Imti Jamir: Emery's first 11 team sheet always look like ready to concede goals and today is no different.

"We would like to place on record our best wishes to Steve Bruce, his staff and our squad for the forthcoming season ahead of Sunday’s game against Arsenal.

"‘We will continue to support our club, however, like thousands of other fans, will not be entering St James’s Park on Sunday.

"By boycotting the game tomorrow, we are demonstrating to a worldwide television audience that we are taking a stand against Mike Ashley’s continued mismanagement of Newcastle United football club."

From a Newcastle perspective, I would be looking at this squad and thinking happy days. They are at home, they have not had to travel and they have some exciting players. They should look at this team and think why not, why can we not go out there and win. No-one was expecting this Arsenal squad. It could be a shock result here.
