Steve Bruce might take some stick from those Newcastle fans gunning for him. The home side were all over the place after that substitution, no-one seemed to know what they were doing.

And that transmitted panic. Paul Dummett must take a huge portion of the blame, selling Jetro Willems short with his pass out wide.

I have always said Aubameyang is good when he plays two touch football, he has always done that in his career. It's a lovely finish. He's a very, very good player. He scores goals, he's sharp.

Nightmare start for Jetro Willems. Seconds after coming on, the Newcastle sub is caught napping by Ainsley Maitland-Niles who picks his pocket on the Arsenal right and flies forward.

A beautiful dink over Jamaal Lascelles finds an unmarked Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. one touch kills it, two puts it into the onion bag.

Here's a Newcastle change - but it is not Allan Saint-Maxim. Sorry Mark.

Instead it is the other man who arrived at St James' Park on deadline day: Dutch left-back Jetro Willems.

Mark: A bit scrappy but pretty happy with what I've seen from Newcastle so far. Still get the feeling wither team could nick a goal at any point to take this one. Be good to see Saint-Maximin in the 2nd half to mix things up.

Michael Reid: Clearly fans don't understand players simply aren't match fit... Laca took a knock in pre-season, Pepe not long back from Afcon. What do they expect Emery to do?

Wolves have made a bright start to the second half and now they have been rewarded.

Joao Moutinho's corner from the right is met by Leander Dondoncker, whose header is blocked by team-mate Willy Boly before the Belgian reacts quickly to sweep in a left-footed strike.

  13. 'Finishing fourth an achievement for Man Utd'published at 15:01 British Summer Time 11 August 2019

Man City v Chelsea (16:30 BST)

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, speaking to Sky Sports about what United can achieve this season: "As a start winning the Europa League. A club of this dimension and potential, when you come to a competition that is not part of your history, you have to win. In the Premier League, obviously, the dressing room must feel they can win the title. If they don't they are in trouble. To finish in the top four would be a good achievement for them.

When asked if he felt they could win the title at the start of last season, when he was manager: "Last season? No. When I said finishing second was one of my biggest achievements I was not having fun. I was telling you what I was feeling. Last season we didn't do enough in the transfer market to compete for first. This season I don't think they can, but I hope they feel they can.

"The big clubs used to go to smaller clubs and just sign their players. In Portugal you can still do it. The TV rights is incredible."

Man Utd v Chelsea (16:30 BST)

Chelsea manager Frank LampardImage source, Reuters

Former Chelsea and Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho, speaking on Sky Sports: "I always say that every experienced manager was at one day inexperienced. They don't have the capital of experience, but what they have is either talent or not. They need the results to prove they are talented.

"Does Frank, what he was as a player, does this give him a capital of trust, especially in a relationship with the fans? Yes, it does. But it is still Chelsea, a massive club with a past of sacking managers.

"By having Frank in place now, they didn't buy players but they bought time. I think he will get the time that other managers may not have."

A Bell: Scrappy, unambitious, pedestrian, poor passing, and anti-climatic. Emery really is consistent with his Arsenal sides.

Neil Moriarty: Emery needs to make urgent half time tactical changes, not panic 75 minute ones.

Dominic W. S. Chan: Guendouzi is quiet; Miki is visionless; Emery should inject new energies in the 2nd half. Arsenal should wake up, this is no longer an exhibition match.

KeyUTD: Newcastle can take this game. Arsenal are as weak as last year without the new signings.

chumillionaire: Arsenal slow in transition..perhaps Ceballos needs to come on second half to speed things up

Josh Edwards: One of Poch's greatest talents is to successfully change the game plan completely at half time. Did it again yesterday. Can Emery do the same?
