James Ballantyne: If he wants to be. Pogba can be like Cantona to all these wonderful young players. I hope he rises to this.

James: Lampard gone by Christmas. Mark my words.

Jack Robin: So Manchester Utd have a flying Welsh winger, feeling they have been there before #RyanGiggs

Substitute Daniel James might have bagged on his Manchester United debut but he wasn't the only new face to impress.

England centre-back Harry Maguire was excellent today, helping keeping the back door shut and robbing Tammy Abraham to set up one of the United goals.

Making more clearances (seven), interceptions (four) and blocks (two) than any other Manchester United player means Maguire has been named man of the match.

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

There was a lot of pressure on United today, more tan Chelsea. After a really good 45 minutes, Chelsea went under too easy. Yes there are positives and some good aspects of their game but Frank has been a winner – a serial winner at Chelsea – and they didn’t get that by having a soft underbelly and being too easy to roll over. That is something they have to sort out straight away.

Anything City and Liverpool can do, eh?

Told you Daniel James was quick and he shows it again in front of his 75,000 new supporters.

James masquerades as Usain Bolt to join Paul Pogba on a rapid United raid, the Frenchman perfectly picking out his wingman on the right.

James initially looks unsure as he hesitates between cross or shot, then lamps a deflected shot into the far corner.
