    Man Utd 3-0 Chelsea

Anyone who saw that goal from Daniel James in the FA Cup last season will know he's almost as quick as light.

Those at Old Trafford who haven't soon get to see how quick he is as the Wales international tries to stretch a tired Chelsea defence.

Fergie looks happy and healthy as he watches on from the posh seats. Nothing like a 3-0 lead over one of United's rivals to boost the great man's spirits.

    Man Utd 3-0 Chelsea

Tis the season of summer signings so it is no surprise to see another. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees this as the perfect opportunity to introduce young Wales winger Daniel James who, if fate hadn't intervened, would have signed for arch-rivals Leeds United in January...

  4. 'He will be judged on goals'published at 73 mins

    Man Utd 3-0 Chelsea

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

On Tammy Abraham who was substituted for Olivier Giroud in the second half: He had a fantastic effort first half. I think he has done okay, I would not say he has been spectacular but it’s not easy playing up front on your own. This is all very new to him. He is a big lad, he has all the attributes of a centre-forward – he is quick, he can hold the ball up but he will be judged on goals. Frank will be in some weeks, but he will have to watch from the bench others.

    Man Utd 3-0 Chelsea

If Maurizio Sarri had made this change... Frank Lampard decides at 3-0 down to take off his defensive midfielder Jorginho and bring on N'Golo Kante in a like for like swap.

Maybe the Chelsea boss fears this could get even worse...

    Man Utd 3-0 Chelsea

Old Trafford hasn't rocked as much as this since the Stones played here a couple of summers ago.

Harry Maguire was not even in the same half when Anthony Martial scored Manchester United's second goal.

But the £80m man made it with a firm challenge on Tammy Abraham to win possession and set the attack in motion.

Some noise in here now. I don't think even the most optimistic Manchester United fan expected this.

Yes! Chelsea fans might want to head back to Piccadilly for an earlier train to Euston.

Paul Pogba has his critics - and there are plenty of them - but when he wants to turn it on he does. What. A. Pass.

The Manchester United midfielder slices open the Chelsea defence with a glorious delivery which Marcus Rashford collects - after beating Cesar Azpilicueta's poor attempt at playing him off.

Rashford does the rest with a cool head and calm feet.

    Game over?

Manchester United double their lead, out of the blue really, when Anthony Martial shows more desire than the Chelsea defence to bundle home a low cross.

Wonder what tactical tweaks he would make now if he was Solskjaer or Lampard?

Could still go either way this one. Not many chances in the past few minutes though...

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 59 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Chelsea

In the middle of all that, Tammy Abraham was shown a yellow card for a tackle on Scott McTominay, who looked in agony as he screamed in pain.

Quick VAR check to see if it deserved a red... nope. Still 11 v11.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 58 mins

    Man Utd 1-0 Chelsea

Chelsea might be under a transfer embargo, but they do have one new signing - Christian Pulisic.

The USA captain, allowed to join because the deal was agreed before the ban in January, replaces Ross Barkley.

Expecting big things Blues fans? I remember watching him play for Dortmund in a Champions League game against Benfica looked razor sharp. Think he scored in a 4-0 win, some fella called Aubameyang got three..

    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof was screaming at Andreas Pereira to drop back then as Chelsea threatened to counter.

Harry Maguire was stranded upfield and Lindelof didn't think Pereira was paying enough attention to what was going on behind him.

And with Maguire still out of position, Chelsea break... United manage to get players back quickly, but the ball eventually finds an unmarked Emerson whose fierce drive is palmed away by David de Gea.

Chelsea are preparing a change. And it is a new face...

United are pressing, a good spell this for the hosts. Harry Maguire is playing centre-forward at the moment.

But a defence-piercing pass isn't forthcoming and Chelsea survive.

Olamide: Shaw's positioning has been terrible. He's going to get found out this season now that we have no-one else to blame in the back four.

Stevie: Zouma like Mangala - got all the elements of a great defender but it just doesn't work. Just a total lack of common sense.

    Man Utd 1-0 Chelsea

    Cynical? Or professional?

Whatever it was, Jorginho knew he had to take out Jesse Lingard in full flight.

The Italy international sees yellow and then berates his team-mates for leaving him exposed.

    Pressure on the Blues again...
