What an entertaining game this has been.

I am glad for the VAR stoppages so I can get my breath back.

Neither side is defending with any confidence and Chelsea can count themselves unlucky to hit the frame of the goal twice, in addition to a couple of David de Gea saves.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be glad to get to half-time with Manchester United still in front.

Andreas Christensen decides against playing the ball across his box to Kurt Zouma - wisely - and instead turns out down the line.

But Jesse Lingard is on his case, closing him down and conceding a throw-in to frenzied support.

Spot on Josh. And here's another mistake from Kurt Zouma, clubbing the ball clear and straight at United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

This time the nervy Chelsea centre-back gets away with it as the home side can't take full advantage.

Sachin Wandkar: Though United are ahead, there's lot to desire. Attack still not convincing. Chelsea on other hand looked lively.

Josh Edkins: Zouma will be the liability the United need to exploit throughout this game. 2 errors already. One being the pen.

United have dominated since the goal, holding most of the possession - 61% in the past 10 minutes to be precise - and moving the ball quicker.

Aaron Wan Bissaka sticks on the gas to move forward for the first time, but isn't able to show his new fans how good his delivery in attacking areas is.

Great penalty from Rashford. The fans love him. He hit it well, he hit it true. All the goalkeeper could do was fish it out the back of the net. United have a lead, but they have not been on top – far from it in this game so far.

More boos as the two sides argue with ref Taylor about who deserves the ball from the newly-introduced uncontested drop-ball. The official rules it is Chelsea's ball and they lump it downfield. 'Ave it!

Anthony Taylor was popular for about 90 seconds. The home fans give him the bird when he stops play with United attacking, seconds after Anthony Martial sees a curling shot blocked.

The ref blows his whistle because Andreas Christensen has gone down with a head injury. Think he's alright...

That was fantastic refereeing by Anthony Taylor.

He was ready to blow for a foul when Andreas Pereira was fouled in the build-up to the penalty but waited. The extra half second was enough for Kurt Zouma to foul Marcus Rashford.

Frank Lampard must be seething. Not the time to show it though, instead trying to cajole his men with his hand-clapping and words of encouragement.

The mood inside Old Trafford has changed quicker than the Manchester weather.
