    Kilmarnock v Connah's Quay (2-1) (19:45)

The world is a different place since Rugby Park last hosted a European tie, against the mighty Viking back in 2001. There was grass on the pitch for a start...

Flossing was just something you did to your teeth, John Prescott banjoed a member of the public who wheeched an egg at him, and this musical genius was top of the charts, presumably taking a break from his stall down the Barras selling dodgy VHS tapes of Eldorado.

Aberdeen squandered some chances, so they'll feel a bit rusty. They'll be better for it though, having the two games under their belt. They were by far the better team, but didn't look sharp tonight. Even after going behind very early they had enough in them to take the tie, but it wasn't anywhere near the level at Pittodrie.

Lewis made a great run in the last seconds of the game. He fluffed the one-on-one, but scored the rebound. I think a mid-season Aberdeen team would wipe the floor with this team. But it's job done, and they're into the next round.

That was hard going from Derek McInnes' men, but the Aberdeen boss won't be caring now. It means the Scottish Premiership side will now face Georgian side Chikhura Sachkhere in the next round of Europa League qualifying.

GOALpublished at 18:50 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    Lewis Ferguson

    And that does it!

RoPS push for a precious winner but commit too many bodies forward. The Dons hit on a quick counter attack through Lewis Ferguson as he goes one on one with Reguero. The keeper saves his first effort, but Ferguson does brilliantly to recover and turn in the rebound.

Aberdeen are still celebrating when the Turkish referee blows for full-time.

A minute plus added time to go. Aberdeen are pressing high, but don't look that keen to get a second. Fair enough.

It's been a strange game. The atmosphere is very quiet, then occasionally bursts to life around us. It's been a controlled, but not a great performance. I just feel Aberdeen have been quite slack at times, and any chances that have come are through mistakes, and if they want to go further in this tournament they'll have to sharpen up.

  13. CLOSE!published at 18:38 British Summer Time 18 July 2019

    RoPS 1-1 Aberdeen (2-3)

Joe Lewis may well have just kept Aberdeen in Europe. The Dons defence completely switch off as a neat flick from sets Youness Rahimi in on goal eight yards out. Lewis flies out his goal and spreads himself brilliantly to deny him.

    Dearie me...

    RoPS 1-1 Aberdeen (2-3)

Patient build up from Aberdeen so close to paying off. The visitors ping the ball about freely at the edge of the box before it is eventually worked towards Andrew Considine. The big defender gets a deft flick but it flies wide of the post.

Then, Niall McGinn tries to chip Antonio Reguero from 30 yards, but the former Ross County and Inverness keeper does well to tip it over.

Aberdeen have to use the strength of Main to hold the ball up. Aberdeen still have to be careful here. The tie's not dead yet and they have to defend, because in the last five minutes RoPS have got back into this after a spell of total dominance from Aberdeen.

    RoPS 1-1 Aberdeen (2-3)

Cosgrove won't be scoring any of those headers from now on, he's been hooked for Curtis Main, who makes his Aberdeen European debut after joining from Motherwell in the summer.

The target man hasn't scored since February. Now would be a good time to bring that run to a halt...

Again Cosgrove should be getting that on target, in my opinion. He is under pressure, but he's above the defender and wins the ball. I'd be wanting my striker to hit the target there, and if he does that he scores. For me it's a really good chance and one he should be taking.

Aberdeen really starting to threaten now. This time it's Ryan Hedges drifting in from out wide. The Welshman picks the ball up, drives for goal 30 yards out and rifles a shot that whistles just over the bar.
