    Tottenham v Newcastle (16:30 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino on his side's start to the season: "I think very good. With all the circumstances I think it's very positive.

"I feel so happy because we're competitive and that's the most important thing. Playing not in our best, you are capable of playing a team like Manchester City and taking one point. It's very positive and it's very early in the season to see what's going to happen.

I am positive and optimistic always and of course happy in the way we started."

  2. 'Both teams impressed'published at 16:08 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Wolves v Burnley (16:30 BST)

    John Roder
    Match of the Day commentator

As Burnley know only too well from this time last year, attempting to qualify for the Europa League can have an enormous impact on your domestic form.

Wolves come into this fixture, their seventh competitive match this month, having won 3-2 at Torino on Thursday to give themselves a great chance of making the group stage.

Both teams have impressed so far this season. Ashley Barnes already has three goals for the Clarets, who were unfortunate to lose at Arsenal last weekend, while Ruben Neves scored what could be Match of the Day's August 'Goal of the Month' against Manchester United on Monday.

  5. Will Wolves wilt in the sun?published at 16:04 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Wolves v Burnley (16:30 BST)

    Neil Johnston
    BBC Sport at Molineux

Sixty-one hours after touching down in the West Midlands, Wolves are back in action after their superb 3-2 win against Torino in Turin in a Europa League play-off.

Burnley's visit is their third game inside a week after coming back to draw with Manchester United last Monday.

It's a blistering hot day in the Black Country but will Wolves, who arrived back from Italy at 03:30 BST Friday, wilt in the sun after the most demanding of weeks?

Burnley have had a free week since narrowly losing 2-1 at Arsenal last weekend and are hunting a second top-flight win of the season after beating Southampton 3-0 on the opening weekend of the season.

  6. The Molineux fortresspublished at 16:03 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Wolves v Burnley (16:30 BST)

Wolves are unbeaten in their last nine home matches in the league. They last went 10 league matches at Molineux without defeat between April and October 1979.

And if the scores finish level, it would be only the second time in their history that Wolves have drawn their opening three matches of a league season.

  7. 'No room for slip-ups'published at 16:01 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Tottenham v Newcastle (16:30 BST)

    Martin Fisher
    Match of the Day commentator

True, VAR provided a huge helping hand but last week's point at Manchester City must give Tottenham fresh belief that they can challenge the champions this season.

To maintain momentum there's no room for slip-ups and Newcastle need dealing with ruthlessly.

Steve Bruce was bruised by their sobering defeat at Norwich and must fear for his side in North London. If a newly promoted club can put them to the sword so easily what kind of harm can Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and co inflict if they're on song?

I think I'm looking forward to my first trip to Tottenham's new ground more than the Toon Army.

The cutting edge Manchester City have is impressive. It was not an easy game for them at all, Bournemouth had a number of chances but they fizzled towards end. Manchester City are clinical when they need to be.

All over at the Vitality. In the end, it was fairly routine for Manchester City. But a screamer from Harry Wilson on his home debut gave the Bournemouth fans something to cheer about.

  16. CLOSE!published at 88 mins

    Bournemouth 1-3 Man City

Joshua King picks out Dominic Solanke in the box and the substitute has space to shoot. It's a tight angle on the left but he gets good power on it.

In the end, it's a comfortable save for Ederson, who is positioned perfectly at the near post, cutting out the angle.

  17. Why no VAR penalty?published at 15:47 British Summer Time 25 August 2019

    Bournemouth 1-3 Man City

A bit more on that VAR decision not to award Manchester City a penalty after he appeared to be brought down by Jefferson Lerma a little earlier in the half.

The appeal was considered not to be a penalty by the on-field referee. As a matter of course, the VAR checked it. We understand that, because this was a subjective decision, the VAR deemed that there was not enough evidence to overturn the original call and so stuck with the on-field decision.
