Embarrassing is the right word to describe Newcastle today.

    Leicester 5-0 Newcastle

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

It's half-hearted defending. Ndidi just turns and lashes the ball past Dubravka.

It's embarrassing. Steve Bruce will be desperate to get his team in the changing room and try to sort this mess out.

  3. goal

GOAL - Leicester 5-0 Newcastlepublished at 90 mins

    Wilfred Ndidi

    And it's five.

He can pass, he can tackle, he can bully the opposition but can he score? Ndidi can.

Wilfred Ndidi collects the ball in the box with his back to goal, spins and scuffs a low finish into the net.

Not the prettiest goal, but the scoreline reads pretty for Leicester.

    For Newcastle, a nightmare.

Leicester have worked harder in training than they have had to for the last 30 minutes of this game.

I firmly believe Leicester have a very great chance of making the top four.

They're more than capable of going to the big six and hosting the big six here and beating them.

They've got a really good chance this season. They're a really, really exciting team. They've been superb today against a poor Newcastle team but you can only beat what's in front of you.

The intensity which they've played at today has been brilliant.

If the ref has a heart, he will blow the whistle now, for Newcastle's sake.

This is so easy for Leicester - they haven't had a glove laid on them in this second half.

There doesn't seem to be any pride coming into the Newcastle display, they just want the whistle.

    Last Leicester change.

Demarai Gray on for former Newcastle man Ayoze Perez, who gets a nice applause coming off.

Phillip Birch: Even as a Leicester fan, I have to admire the Magpies' supporters. They are top.

Matthew Okot: Who'd have thought ANOTHER merry-go-round appointment would be a disaster?

The best thing that can happen is relegation, the sale of the club to people who understand football & understand the City. Bruce sums up everything that is wrong with the Ashley regime. Look at the end of last season with Benitez. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory....

Newcastle nailed on to go down. Even worse than Watford in my view. At least the Hornets have some decent attacking players, but need to get the defence sorted in January. Newcastle poor at the back, and if Andy Carroll is their saviour up front, then they've had it!!

Newcastle at the moment are clueless talentless useless reckless

“Look for Big Andy” yells Steve Bruce. Sadly for Newcastle, Carroll is on the halfway line waiting for a throw, not in the Leicester box waiting for a cross.

The Newcastle fans are still singing by the way. They’ve been belting out ‘who’s that team we call United?’ for about 15 minutes now.

Richard Cumiskey: At 4-0 down all I can hear are the Newcastle fans. Absolute class. The fans don't deserve this.

Chancel MyMbembaship: Even when we lost under Rafa it was rarely by more than one goal. He knew that goal difference at the end of the season could matter. Bruce? Hasn’t a clue. Not the last hammering we’ll get this season.

Dean Reading: So Hayden shouts, "What's the point in playing?" I imagine most Newcastle fans are wondering the same? Nailed on for the drop.

  20. 'I feel sorry for Newcastle fans'published at 18:01 British Summer Time 29 September 2019

    Leicester 4-0 Newcastle

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

I feel sorry for the fans - they back their team week in, week out but the quality isn't quite there.

I feel sorry for Steve Bruce too, he knew the job at hand and he knew it was a big ask. After seeing them against Tottenham I thought they could cause Leicester problems, but the red card has caused them huge problems today.
