The bass player in my band is an Atalanta fan who lives in Manchester, naturally. He has been tasked with getting his hands on as many tickets as poosible and at the last count was leading a group of 28 (twenty-eight). A fine effort!

He even had to get one for the mayor of his home town near Bergamo. Go well all.

All three tiers of the away section at the Etihad are sold out tonight, with more than 2,500 Atalanta fans in attendance hoping to see their side win their first ever Champions League point.

The Italian side chartered nine planes out of Milan’s Malpensa airport, and hundreds more fans have made their own way here. All of them are wearing some form of blue and black if the ones I bumped into earlier are anything to go by - and most of them got into the ground early too.

They’ve been pretty lucky with the autumn weather - it’s been a dry and pretty mild day in Manchester, by recent standards anyway - and there were plenty of them milling around without their coats on outside the National Football Museum and the Northern Quarter earlier.

It’s a fair bit chillier now, though, so I hope they have brought a couple of extra layers with them.

They replace Toby Alderweireld, Harry Winks, Danny Rose and Lucas Moura.

Midfielder Christian Eriksen is on the bench after recovering from a dead leg. Argentina midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is also among the substitutes having recently returned to fitness.

So far this season, Bayern Munich's Serge Gnabry and Erling Haaland of Red Bull Salzburg are top scorers in the Champions League with four goals each.

But can you name the 18 players who have picked up the coveted Golden Boot since the tournament was rebranded as the Champions League in 1992-93?

Course you can. Well, you'll get 13 or 14 easily enough.

Tottenham v Red Star Belgrade (20:00 BST)

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Mauricio Pochettino has shuffled his pack to re-ignite his Spurs side after their poor run, which continued with a draw against struggling Watford at home on Saturday.

Heung-min Son is back against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League but Christian Eriksen, whose future is a constant source of speculation is only on the bench, with Lucas Moura also dropping down after starting on Saturday.

It may just be a sign of Eriksen's current standing that he is not required to start a game Spurs desperately need to win.

Tanguy Ndombele starts while Giovani Lo Celso is a substitute.

Erik Lamela gets a start but there is no place in the squad for either Danny Rose or Toby Alderweireld.
