Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Red Star Belgrade

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Really good delivery. Alli was in and around the goalkeeper just trying to stop him stepping out a yard. The ball was whipped in with pace and Harry Kane gets a beautiful glancing header into the far corner. That's a better start for Spurs.

  2. Perfect start for Spurspublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

This is much better from Spurs. Plenty of intensity, pressing and quality - and now a Harry Kane goal to show for it.

Red Star struggling to cope with their mobility and the crowd right behind Mauricio Pochettino's side.

  3. Elsewhere in Europepublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

Paris St-Germain are off the mark in Belgium as Mauro Icardi puts the visitors ahead against Club Brugge in Group A.

If the French side do win tonight - and Galatasaray are held against Real Madrid - then PSG will be the first team to qualify for the knock-out stages of the Champions League after three games.

  4. 'Dele gone backwards'published at 20:15 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 Red Star Belgrade

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

I would say Dele Alli has gone backwards. The injuries can't be used as an excuse. When he first caught the eye in a Tottenham shirt he was in that box and he was scoring goals. He has got to get back to that.

  6. City playing with three at the backpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Man City 0-0 Atalanta

    Chris Bevan
    BBC Sport at Etihad Stadium

The Atalanta fans have kept up a barrage of noise since the game started and, on the pitch, their team are looking lively too.

City are not picking up the runs in behind their defence, which seems to be more like three at the back than four - Rodri is playing further forward than Fernandinho, and is alongside Ilkay Gundogan most of the time.

Whatever the formation, it is not working too well at present.

  7. CLOSE!published at 20:15 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Manchester City 0-0 Atalanta

Atalanta are finding so much space in the Manchester City defence and they fluff a golden chance to take the lead when Robin Gosens gets away down the left and floats in a cross that Timothy Castagne heads over from six yards.

Manchester City are yet to get going in this one.

It's a different pitch Dave. They wheel the football pitch out and the NFL one is underneath.

    No, honestly.

GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Red Star Belgradepublished at 20:12 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Harry Kane (9 mins)

    That will do it!

Simple as you like, great delivery from a right-wing corner by Erik Lamela and Harry Kane is in fornt of his marker to flick a header into the far corner.

You wouldn't think they had started quite brightly from this...

    Manchester City 0-0 Atalanta

Atalanta are no mugs and look dangerous, Robin Gosens is finding plenty of space on the left wing but his cutback is well cut out by Fernandinho. A fairly wild challenge from Andrea Masiello sees the defender in the book.

That was not a good tackle from Benjamin Mendy. I would say the Manchester City defender is lucky to still be on the pitch.

    Tottenham 0-0 Red Star Belgrade

Spurs have been bright so far. No sign of a hangover, Harry Kane and Son link up nicely, Son drives to the edge of the area but tops his shot a bit and bobbles one into the hands of Milan Borjan.

  15. Postpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Manchester City 0-0 Atalanta

Josip Ilicic - just clattered seconds ago - is nearly through on goal for Atalanta but takes a bad touch and the chance is gone.

Tottenham Hotspur 0-0 Red Star Belgrade

    Andy Townsend
Ex-Chelsea midfielder on BBC Radio 5 live

It's vitally important Tottenham lay down a marker in the first 10 to 15 minutes - get on the front foot and put Red Star under pressure.

You don't want to sit back and allow them to feel comfortable in these surroundings.

  17. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Red Star Belgrade

Harry Kane gets into the penalty area, chops onto his left foor and goes down - just lost his footing I think. There's no appeal from the skipper. He kicked the floor.

  18. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Manchester City 0-0 Atalanta

That's a nasty one - Benjamin Mendy has a bad touch, stretches to recover it and goes in high, over the ball on Josip Ilicic.

The left-back is perhaps lucky to only see yellow there.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Red Star Belgrade

A bit late getting under way but we are off and running now at Tottenham.

  20. Postpublished at 20:03 British Summer Time 22 October 2019

Ederson flaps at a cross before Kevin de Bruyne pumps a cross right through the back of the penalty area. Pep strides up and down the touchline.
