    Czech Republic 1-1 England

Raheem Sterling is booked after playing on after the referee had blown for a foul the forward had committed in the build up to an attack.

  2. Southgate waits on changespublished at 21:08 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

England still sloppy and lacking inspiration with the Czech Republic still looking dangerous. How long will he leave this?

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 65 mins

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

The hosts make a change in attack as Patrik Schick is replaced by FC Dallas forward Zdenek Ondrasek.

  4. Postpublished at 64 mins

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

Now Harry Kane's touch deserts him! He peels away from the defence to meet Raheem Sterling's excellent ball, flicks a boot but misses completely and the ball runs through to the keeper.

England, to be fair, are improving and creating chances now.

  5. Postpublished at 63 mins

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

In fact, pretty much all the creativity is coming from Harry Kane as he plays a fine ball over the top for Jadon Sancho but the Borussia Dortmund forward can't control the bouncing ball and the hosts sweep up the danger.

  6. 'Subs can't do any worse'published at 21:03 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Any substitutions can't do any worse than what we have seen so far tonight, so Gareth Southgate may as well make some changes and just see what happens.

  7. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

Thirty minutes remaining and no movement on the bench. Gareth Southgate has possibly been a bit encouraged by England's improved shape, although there is still a dearth of creativity in the middle.

  8. Subdued Harry?published at 21:01 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

Harry Kane has had the fewest touches of all the England players so far tonight - just 25. Jadon Sancho is next on 28.

At the opposite end of the scale, Harry Maguire and Michael Keane have had 125 touches between them.

Where did that come from? Lukas Masopust is given space on the edge of the area and he cracks off a great shot that looks set to dip just under the crossbar before Jordan Pickford manages to palm over.

Harry Kane is back defending to head away the corner.

    Lovely move by England!

Much needed as Danny Rose, Jadon Sancho and Harry Kane exchange passes before Kane plays a first-time ball to put Raheem Sterling in on goal. The forward tries to round Tomas Vaclik but the Czech Republic keeper just manages to touch the ball away.

  11. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

Incredibly disjointed performance by England. Bar a few minutes after the break when they came out with a bit of fire in the belly it is more of the same bitty display we saw in the first half.

Gareth Southgate must be thinking about changes soon?

Is Harry Kane still on the pitch?

There just seems to be a complete lack of creativity whenever Kane plays, he's our best player, but is he right for the team?

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

    Chris Waddle

I think Gareth Southgate needs to make some subs.

Someone with a bit of energy that can get their foot on the ball.

You would think Marcus Rashford, Harry Winks, Ross Barkley.

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

Quick break by Czech Republic as Harry Maguire gives the ball away. The defender is out of position and it is three versus two but, fortunately for England, Tomas Soucek fires well over from the edge of the box.

In order to win championships, England needs a formidable midfield engine ala Pirlo/Gattuso, Khedira/Schweinsteiger, Zizou/Viera or Alonso/Busquets. This England midfield is void of any ideas, guile and vision.

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

A promising move by England as Jadon Sancho tries to send Raheem Sterling away but Jakub Brabecs times a challenge perfectly to hook the ball away from the Manchester City forward's feet.

  17. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

No changes in personnel but the system has been tweaked with England playing 4-3-3.

It is, however, the hosts who have the first chance of the half as Vladimír Darida fires one over from 35 yards.

  18. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

The players are back out on the pitch and Gareth Southgate has given his first XI the chance to improve on their first-half display. No changes.

  19. Rate the playerspublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

    Czech Republic 1-1 England

I feel like I'm throwing the players under the bus slightly by offering you the chance to rate their performances, but you can do that here.

  20. England's balance all wrongpublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer in Prague

England have been very poor in this first half and it is not simply the defence to blame. The midfield balance looks all wrong with Mason Mount in such an advanced position, allowing the Czech Republic to over-run England when they push forward.

Gareth Southgate must address this at half-time.
