  1. PENALTY TO ENGLANDpublished at 4 mins

    Czech Republic 0-0 England

Raheem Sterling charges away down the left, cuts inside Lukas Masopust and is brought down by the defender.

Definite penalty. England with a big chance here...

  2. 'Hosts not sitting back'published at 19:48 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

    Czech Republic 0-0 England

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a good start by the Czech Republic. They have done their homework and aren't sitting back like they did last time.

They are at home and they are going to make a go of it.

  3. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Czech Republic 0-0 England

Early chance for the hosts as Jan Boril drives in a cross from the left that slices through the England defence but bounces off Patrik Schick's chest and Jordan Pickford is able to gather.

Bit too easy to get that ball in, but we'll put that down to a bit of early-game rustiness.

Don't understand how Harry Kane is still England captain when Jordan Henderson should be.

As much as we want a nice free-flowing performance from England, a gritty victory might be more beneficial for this team.

Unfortunately for Callum Wilson he's got that illness so it almost seems certain that Tammy Abraham will come on and score tonight. I'm sure Gareth will definitely be keen to give him some time on the pitch.

I think off the back of the Kosovo performance, Gareth Southgate will be looking for a clean sheet tonight.

Czech Republic will be coming into this game thinking they've got nothing to lose. I hope they play better than they did at Wembley and look to attack a bit more.

England will want a clean sheet and a win.

A Czech Republic fan looks pleased as punch as he proudly holds aloft a half an half scarf. No-one has the heart around him to tell him he's holding it upside down though.

The players are out on the pitch and stood in a line. Its national anthem time.

  10. Still empty seats in Praguepublished at 19:40 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

Not long to kick off and still plenty of empty red seats inside The Sinobo Stadium here in Prague - although our man with the microphone is doing his best to rev up the atmosphere.

Peter Shields: Massively disappointing and negative team selection AGAIN ! Harry Kane would be guaranteed selection if he lost a leg. He has been hopeless recently. Alexander Arnold and Tammy Abraham should definitely be playing.

I'll never understand why Southgate continues to start Rice and Henderson together, what does Maddison have to do earn a start? Also, why no TAA or Chilwell? And Tomori should be starting based on form over Keane

    Callum

James Maddison withdrew from the squad yesterday through illness, Callum.

I think Gareth Southgate playing Jordan Henderson and Declan Rice together in midfield is a reaction to what happened last month. He was really unhappy with second-half performance against Kosovo in particular.

  13. 'Mount will offer something England don't have'published at 19:36 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

    Rob Green
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Mason Mount has been earmarked by England for quite a while. He's been fast-tracked a bit but he's been highly thought of for quite a while. From watching him at Derby last season, he takes so many touches around and in the box, he makes it so hard for defenders to defend against. He'll offer England something that the other attackers don't.

He's improving all the time because of the players around him. He'll have played with a fair few of these players through the age groups.

  14. 'Mount deserves his chance'published at 19:34 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

Czech Republic v England (19:45 BST)

    England

England manager Gareth Southgate on ITV: "Mason Mount's form, he has been playing really well with Chelsea. He adjusted and adapted really well last month with us and deserves his opportunity.

"We play three in midfield anyway but where they end up depends on the flow of the game. Mason will pay more advanced.

"Ultimately, we want to keep imploring as a team and focus on our performance. If we do that the results will come and there is a great prize if we win tonight. That is the objective.

"Callum Wilson has a bit of illness. We are keeping him away form the rest of the group so it does not spread but he should be OK for Monday."

Petr Cech - who played in this city for Sparta Prague - is here tonight and has just received a warm ovation as part of a parade of stars.

The goalkeeper who distinguished himself for his country, winning 124 caps, is now Chelsea's technical and performance advisor and will be taking a keen interest in Mason Mount on his full England debut.

  16. Elsewhere in Europe...published at 19:30 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

The crucial set of fixtures to look out for this evening come in Group H.

Turkey went out at the group stage at the last Euros but have put themselves in an excellent position to qualify next year by topping the group.

They host Albania tonight at Fenerbahce's Sukru Saracoglu stadium.

World champions France are second on head-to-head and travel to third-placed Iceland, who could move into an automatic qualification spot with victory in Reykjavik tonight.

  17. 'I want to do even better this year'published at 19:28 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

Czech Republic v England (19:45 BST)

Raheem Sterling talking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I've matured, I'm loving every moment of training and playing, I'm making football my everything. It's a learning process and I'm learning what I've got to do to get to the top of the game.

"I hear a lot of people talk about my football, it's been disappointing to hear in the past, I know what I've been doing for almost 10 years now. Things probably don't always go to plan but it's how you get back up for them so I'm not surprised, not in an arrogant way, but it's something I've been doing from a young age.

"I scored 25 goals last season, there's no point coming in this season being happy to score last, we won the league last year and I want to do even better this year. I'm doing more on the training pitch to become even better."

The front three are very exciting. We hope that Marcus Rashford gets his form back soon because he's another player you can throw in but Mason Mount is someone who can make a difference. We all thought Ross Barkley would be that player, be the number 10 to create and score goals, but it's not worked out for him. I want Mason Mount to become that player now and I want him to become that fourth attacker.

  19. The night the long losing streak ends?published at 19:25 British Summer Time 11 October 2019

    Andorra v Moldova (19:45 BST)

    Who'd be an Andorra fan?

Their national team has played 55 European Championship qualifiers... and lost 55 European Championship qualifiers.

They, do, however have a pretty big chance to end that sorry record tonight. They host Moldova, a side that has a worst defensive record than Andorra, having conceded 17 goals in Group H to Andorra's 14.

This may not be England's best team now, but if this team can keep playing together we'll be in good shape for the Euros. Glad to see Rice and Mount playing, would've liked to see TAA too though.
