  1. 'Defensively that was horrific'published at 14:01 British Summer Time 5 October 2019

    Brighton 3-0 Tottenham

    Steve Brown
Former Charlton Athletic defender on BBC Radio London

What a way to turn defence into attack. Connolly has nothing else in his mind but to take on Toby Alderweireld. Everything about that defensively was horrific. It was a great goal but Alderweireld should never have turned his back. He did everything wrong.

There are some miserable faces in the Spurs end. They are heading for a second heavy defeat of the week.

This would be a fourth defeat in five.

    Breaking

Dejan Lovren makes his first Premier League start of the season for Liverpool as Joe Gomez is left on the bench. No place for Alisson in goal yet despite his return to training.

As expected James Maddison is back for Leicester after an injury.

Elsewhere, Norwich’s third-choice goalkeeper Michael McGovern makes his first ever Premier League start. He’s 35.

Andre Gomes is back on Everton’s bench after a month out with a rib injury.

    Game over?

It's 19-year-old Irishman Aaron Connolly again on his full Premier League debut. He drives at the Spurs defence down the left, cuts in and buries the ball into the far corner.

A brilliant goal. More misery for Tottenham.

    Burnley v Everton (15:00 BST)

    John Bennett
Final Score reporter at Turf Moor

Marco Silva looked pretty relaxed arriving at Turf Moor, signing autographs after getting off the team bus. A run of three Premier League defeats in a row means it’s a worrying time for him going into an international break but this place will bring back good memories. Everton won 5-1 here last season. Burnley defender Ben Mee says that’s a result they “want to put right".

Close! Pascal Gross rattles the bar with an effort from a free-kick from a very tight angle. I think everyone was expecting the cross. Gazzaniga may have had it covered.

Steve Payne: Spurs lack leaders on pitch. Where's the passion? Where's our Roy Keane or Tony Adams? Players who will scream and shout to drag the team back into this game?

    Brighton 2-0 Tottenham

Dale Stephens tries 'a Paul Scholes' - a volley from the edge of the box from a corner. It sails way over the bar but Brighton seems to have overcome the pressure Tottenham applied at the start of the half.

It's the home fans singing proudly from the stands.

Aaron Mooy has been very good for Brighton here. It was a good deal for the Seagulls to get him from Huddersfield at the start of the season, wasn't it?

All this Poch out stuff is ridiculous, talk about being a victim of your own success. Getting to the CL final last year was frankly miraculous after not signing a single player. The problem is the consistent failure of Levy to strengthen the squad.
