It's a brilliant run from Elliott but it's an even better run from Williams at right-back because Kolasinac didn't know who to go with and that generated the space for Elliott. Promising scenes from the two youngsters on the right hand side.

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Harvey Elliott was excellent against MK Dons in this cup and he has the first shot on goal for Liverpool, leans back and clubs it into the stands though. Sharp start from the 16-year-old.

I'm a big of Joe Willock in the Arsenal midfield. Torreria is a good player too. It'll be interesting to see if they can cope with Liverpool's experienced midfield.

  4. Postpublished at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

A lot of big squad numbers on display, it's more NFL than EFL. Liverpool's more experienced midfield three are looking to impose themselves early but it's Arsenal who put together a decent attack, Ainsley Maitland-Niles' cross is overdone though.

  5. 'Look out for Elliott'published at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Stephen Warnock
Ex-Liverpool defender on Radio 5 Live

I don't think this will bother Harvey Elliott, he'll be looking forward to it. Look out for him. He'll be looking to cause Kolasinac, who isn't great defensively, lots of problems.

  6. Postpublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Liverpool 0-0 Arsenal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, practically a veteran this evening, gets the ball wide right against his old club but the pass into him is overhit and it runs out.

I don't think Marcus Rashford is an out and out number nine. His movement for the goal against Liverpool and the one against Norwich at the weekend, it was fantastic.

He's in good form at the moment, I like him.

If he was at Liverpool he'd be talked about like Mane and Firmino. He's still learning the number nine position, I think in another couple of seasons he'll make that position his own.

I think he'll get the goals and become one of the great strikers. He's got the ability to become one of the great players in world football.

What a surprise - Emery all over the place over Xhaka - should have stripped him of the captaincy immediately. So to try and pacify us supporters he finally brings back Ozil. Feels very much like the last roll of the dice for Emery and I would be surprised if he was still in the job by Christmas.

    Richard, Maida Vale.

Surely Emery should have fielded the same XI who played against Palace to give themselves a chance of redemption against what was always going to be a weaker Liverpool team. Then if they failed again, change the team for the next league match and give the others a chance in a match that really counts. And what must Ozil be thinking? like the rest of us, he'll be mystified as to who is actually running this team.

United's team is telling me that Ole wants to get in the next round. He obviously thinks it's a massive game.

They'll know it's a difficult game, Frank Lampard has been fantastic since he took over at Chelsea.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "I am very excited about it. I know how difficult it is but we decided long ago we had to do it this way. The squad is made for it. We have to show our faith.

"It is against Arsenal. It is a tough one but it's what we prepare them for. Let's give it a try. Sepp van den Berg - people probably know about him. Really talented centre-half. First big match here in England.

"Neco Williams is Welsh but is homegrown here - since he was seven, I think. I am really pleased for him. He has looked so good in the last few days at training."

I've been in this situation before when you've wanted to play games and this is your opportunity. This is your moment to show what you can do, it's exciting.

There's exciting young players on the bench for Liverpool too. Billy Koumetio on the bench, he's a centre-back, what a player. Outstanding. He's like a young Virgil van Dijk.
