    Andy Carroll Mk I

It's disappointing when Andy Carroll isn't available to be on the field. It looks like he's worked very hard to get back out there, he's a big part of this team. He's a huge attribute for Steve Bruce to have available.

Marco Silva is still Everton manager. I'll let you know should we hear anything different.

Who's better than Chris Wilder since 2014? Chris Wilder pre 2014. He was brilliant for Oxford United.

    Steve in Kent

Yeah alright, since then Oxford have done a bit better...

    That stand is the same.

    Arsenal v Brighton (20:15 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

Freddie Ljungberg is in charge of Arsenal now but nothing changes, does it? They are good going forward but still open at the back and it feels like any team can cause them problems.

The only thing that might help the Gunners is that, having watched Brighton at the weekend, I am not really sure where their goals are going to come from.

    Prediction: 2-0

Rezza Sait: Arsenal can get Ancelotti, Simeone or Allegri but the fact is those centre backs are unmanageable. The new manager will need a new backline.

Shambhawi: Arsenal should go for Poch - proven pedigree in the Premier League, nice attacking football, I'm sure he would bring his own defensive enforcements if he is approached.

It was a different man in charge of Arsenal on Sunday, but the same old problems at the back were still very evident.

Sorting out the Gunners' shoddy defence is certainly not going to be a quick fix for Freddie Ljungberg, and it will be interesting to see what side he goes with after his line up at Norwich raised a few eyebrows.

On paper, this is a good first home game at the helm for him as Brighton have been poor on the road this season and look a bit blunt up front.

That said, the Seagulls ran Liverpool close at Anfield and not many teams have managed that.

Arsenal are winless in eight matches in all competitions (D6 L2) – should they fail to beat Brighton, it would be their worst winless run since March 1977, a run of 10.

The Clash's debut album and Rumours by Fleetwood Mac had just come out, The Sex Pistols had just been signed and The Krypton Factor was just about to be launched.

    Better days.

Newcastle boss Steve Bruce to Amazon: "We got a point against Manchester City and it gives everyone a lift, a bit of confidence but we have to reproduce it. The league is relentless.

"Andy Carroll has been knocking on the door and a game like today is made for him. He deserves his chance. They are what they are, a very, very good side.

"They epitomise what Chris Wilder is all about and we have to be at the levels that are required."

Arsenal defender David Luiz talking to Amazon Prime:

    "We need to be consistent.

"We need a new oxygen and try to win some games. The new manager did very well in the last game, he tried to bring our happiness and play football in the right way.

"Sometimes that is not beautiful football, it is trying to win the game."

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder on Steve Bruce: "He is an experienced manager. You are not just given jobs in the Premier League if you are bang average and Steve isn't bang average as a manager and a person.

"I speak to him quite regularly and I am certainly not surprised by the job he is doing at Newcastle.

"It is a big, big job and a huge football club and one that needed a big personality and they have certainly got one in Steve."

If England win their group, they could face Germany, France or Portugal in the last 16.

The BBC, which has first and second picks in both the last 16 and the quarter-finals, is sharing television coverage of the tournament in the UK with ITV, which will have first pick for the semi-finals. Both broadcasters will show the final.
