Adama Traore now runs at Jan Vertonghen and flies past him with predictable ease - but the Belgian gets help from inside and Spurs can clear.

Jose's side are up to fifth and three points off the top four as it stands, by the way...

A look at Manchester United's results this season suggests a victory here is not going to be straightforward for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men.

In six matches this season, against Chelsea, Leicester, Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City, United have accumulated an impressive 14 points.

In the other 11 - against the Premier League's so-called lesser lights - they have gained only 10.

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

Adama Traore, built like a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, cuts in from the right and smashes a shot straught at Paulo Gazzaniga before Serge Aurier crosses straight out of play. Cross that off your bingo card.

Every full-back fancies themselves as a midfielder don't they? Mason Holgate is the latest man to give it a go. Didn't Leighton Baines have a stint in there, Lahm-style? Or was that just talked about under Roberto Martinez?

Holgate is more destroyer than delivery man. Marcus Rashford then flies in on Michael Keane as he clears the ball and the England forward is lucky not to get a card there.

What a let off for Everton. Seamus Coleman and Jordan Pickford are having a right row about who should have gone for that. The Everton captain is giving his goalkeeper a right ticking off. Everton are lucky there that Daniel James shot wide because that could have been a big mistake.

    Wolves 0-1 Tottenham

He's a new man, Dele Alli isn't he? Skins two defenders to pile into the Wolves box, Rui Patricio comes out to smother his shot at his feet. Spurs look lively.

  8. CLOSE!published at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

    Manchester United 0-0 Everton

Victor Lindelof with a cracking long ball into the run of Marcus Rashford, who is pushed wide a bit and has to take the shot on early with his left foot. He needs to go across the keeper but can only slice into the side-netting at the near post.

Seconds later Daniel James is played in by a fine through ball and drags his shot across the goal and wide!

Everton opened up twice by balls through.

    Lucas Moura (8 mins)

Seconds after Son has a shot parried out by Rui Patricio, Spurs do take the lead! It's Lucas Moura, who has been a bright spark so far, who scores it and it's a cracker as well. He gathers up the loose ball, drives into the area, ball stuck to his feet, finds a gap between two defenders and leathers a shot into the roof of the net!

All a bit Giggs 99 semi-final that one. Should Patricio have done better?

    Yes.

Jonny breaks into the Spurs box, Serge Aurier is on the wrong side and makes the tackle, I was expecting a penalty but it's just a Wolves corner.

Great tempo to both of these games so far.

I cannot understand why Jose is persisting with Dier. Ive watched the last couple of games and hes been awful, especially his passing. A shadow of the player he was, sadly.

Get down to Adams Park and say that Mr Staggs.

Youth product on youth product as Tom Davies skittles Scott McTominay and the Everton lad is in the book. Mason Holgate is playing in midfield for Everton, by the way.

Aashish: Love Big Dunc, suited, smiling and ozzing pride at being Everton manager.

It doesn't get better than Old Trafford on game day. What an atmosphere.

Good open start at Molineux as well as first Lucas has a mazy run into the area well cleared before Adama Traore crosses at the other end and Matt Doherty is almost on the end of a header.

What a fantastic start for Manchester United. The ball fell kindly for Jesse Lingard. He should have scored, what a chance for Manchester United.

Chances at either end as Mason Holgate lofts in a cross, overhits it and David de Gea has to react well to tip it over! It was floating in.

De Gea whacks his back against the post and is hurt by that. He'll carry on though.

All coaching staff from both teams were wearing big club coats as they walked down the side of the pitch to the dug-outs.

One man wasn't. Duncan Ferguson, who stuck with his suit and tie.

    Doesn't he feel the cold?

  19. CLOSE!published at 14:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2019

A great chance inside 20 seconds! Fred barrels into the box, there's one or two missed tackles and the ball falls for Jesse Lingard about 10 yards out, he swivels and shoots but can only drag it wide.

    Big chance!
