Matthew Cox: Wanting to get rid of VAR entirely is the definition of throwing the baby out with the bathwater. It was fine at the World Cup. The problem, obviously, is the Premier League's arrogantly self-centered interpretation of it.

Fairplayfooty: Obvious stamp on foot for penalty. Encroachment was clear for 1st penalty. Don't know what the fuss is about.

The Supreme Meme: Why are people blaming VAR again? It's only enforcing the encroachment rule which *was* broken, exactly as it does with the new handball rule...

So with three points, as it stands, Manchester City move up into second place in the table, 11 points behind leaders Liverpool.

Wolves remain in eighth unless things change in the second half.

Daryl Wing: Man City should play with ten every week. Defence looks solid, and with Sterling and Mahrez up front, they'll always have a chance of winning a penalty.

The last time Manchester City had a player sent off in the first 12 minutes of a Premier League match was on 15 March 2014, when Vincent Kompany was sent off in the 10th minute in an away game at Hull City.

Manchester City went on to win 2-0.

Definitely looks like a hip flask! Ouch.

There was a warning to the crowd over the public address system about throwing objects onto the pitch, telling them how it was an offence and they were being watched by CCTV.

One picture has emerged of a Manchester City player holding what appeared to be a metal hip flask thrown onto the pitch. That could have caused serious damage.

Boos around Molineux. It's Man City who lead at half-time despite Rui Patricio saving two penalties...

I've watched Manchester City train and it is all about keeping the ball. And that's what they've done today.

When you're down to 10 men and winning the match you have to keep the ball. You can see Pep on the touchline telling them to keep the ball and keep passing.

Manchester City have been brilliant today.

Garett Switzer: At the moment it feels like nobody is better off with VAR; attackers called for ridiculous offside decisions, defenders for ridiculous pens, and goalkeepers for ridiculous penalty retakes. We might learn to love VAR, but it is a tough learning curve.

Shanmugaraja: How was it VAR's fault? It's rules which says penalty to be retaken if any encroachment.

City's players think it's hit Raul Jimenez's arm in the box but play is waved on. Wolves keep piling on the pressure and Adama Traore's half-volley is blasted into a wall of defenders.

Romain Saiss then curls one in from the left but Jimenez's header is cleared off the line. Eventually, Riyad Mahrez hoofs it as far up the pitch as possible!

Wolves just starting to open up a few cracks.
