Almost the biggest cheer of the day from the home fans, and it comes as Spurs win a throw.

They take it quickly and Moussa Sissoko drives into the area, slips a pass back to Christian Eriksen and that's a wonderful sliding, goal-saving tackle from Brighton's Steven Alzate.

Brighton will be disappointed. They haven't really had any control of the game in the second half and it's been all Tottenham.

    Great save!

Dele Alli almost grabs his second as he latches on to a neat ball inside the area and fizzes a left-footed effort goalbound, but Mat Ryan paws it over.

Here goes Harry Kane. One v one with Shane Duffy.

Go for goal or go for the corner? The Spurs striker crawls into the box and then gets a shot away, but it's well wide.

All a bit sloppy in the north London rain late on. Spurs give it away as Dele Alli fails to find Eric Dier, but then Brighton hand over possession themselves.

The Seagulls get it back and that's a lovely ball to Dan Burn at the back post... the big defender turns it back into the danger area but can only find a white shirt.

One for Dele Alli's nutmeg files. Yves Bissouma the man on the receiving end.

Spurs win a free-kick, and a chance to wind down the clock.

    All Brighton now.

But can Spurs create something on the break here? Harry Kane slugs it out with Adam Webster in the corner, like two heavyweights in the 12th round of a title fight.

Eventually the Brighton man comes away with the ball.

    What is Moussa Sissoko doing?

He's upset by a collision with Dan Burn and goes after the defender, twice pushing him.

The Spurs midfielder gets a booking for his troubles and earns a suspension.

Spurs are now sitting a lot deeper, letting Brighton knock it about the back four in front of them.

It breaks to Giovani Lo Celso but his pass is cut out by Dan Burn and here go Brighton...

Pascal Gross has a dig, but Paulo Gazzaniga is there... at the second attempt, after the ball nearly slipped out of his gloves.

Big 10 minutes for both sides coming up. Can Brighton salvage something here? Can Tottenham hold on to the three points?

I don't think Mat Ryan had a chance with that goal. It was just a wonderful, wonderful strike. The whole of Tottenham's play from Serge Aurier's cut-back to Dele Alli's finish, it was all sublime.

You’ve got to be quick to get a picture of the players or managers when they come off the team coaches as after two steps they vanish behind a screen into the Goodison Park dressing rooms.

But here are Sean Dyche (you may have to take my word for that) and Carlo Ancelotti, who was all smiles as he stopped and waved to some of the home fans.
