Sunday was awful for Tottenham all round, on and off the field.
The performance against Chelsea was lifeless and pedestrian.
Brighton's weekend was below par too, but they'll come into this with the confidence from having beaten Spurs at home in October, and their win at Arsenal earlier this month - the Seagulls' only success in seven games.
If Boxing Day history means anything, it's well in the home side's favour.
Spurs were last beaten on 26 December in 2003, whilst Brighton haven't won since 2005.
Tottenham v Brighton (12:30 GMT)
Jose Mourinho makes two changes to the side that lost to Chelsea last Sunday, with Ryan Sessegnon making his first Premier League start for Spurs, and Harry Winks also coming in. Eric Dier drops to the bench while Son Heung-min is suspended.
Tottenham XI: Gazzaniga, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Alderweireld, Aurier, Alli, Winks, Sissoko, Lucas Moura, Sessegnon, H Kane.
Substitutes: Vorm, Lamela, Dier, Lo Celso, Foyth, Eriksen, Tanganga
Graham Potter has reacted to Brighton's loss to Sheffield United by making five changes - Shane Duffy, Ezequiel Schelotto, Bernardo, Aaron Connolly and Steven Alzate step in with Lewis Dunk, Martin Montoya, Leandro Trossard, Dale Stephens and Neal Maupay making way.
Brighton XI: Ryan, Webster, Duffy, Burn, Schelotto, Bernardo, Connolly, Stephen, Mooy, Gross, Alzate.
Substitutes: Button, Maupay, Bissouma, Trossard, Murray, Montoya, Propper.
Man Utd v Newcastle (17:30 GMT)
Martin Fisher
MOTD commentator at Old Trafford
These two sides are separated in the table by goal difference. Few expected that on the opening Sunday of the campaign as Manchester United thrashed Chelsea 4-0 while Newcastle lost meekly at home to Arsenal.
Steve Bruce has expunged early relegation fears by making his team hard to beat. A defence once so leaky has become as miserly as Mr Scrooge. They don't score many but he has finally got one out of Miguel Almiron!
Ole Gunnar's Solskjaer's side have consistently struggled to breakdown stubborn defences this season. The return of Paul Pogba and maybe a start for Mason Greenwood could provide the keys to unpick the lock this time.

Lovely job. Keep them coming...
Sheff Utd v Watford (15:00 GMT)
Vicki Sparks
MOTD commentator at Bramall Lane
'Tis the season to be jolly - and that's certainly the case at Sheffield United, with Chris Wilder even taking a turn as 'Santa' for the assembled media this week!, external
Mind you, it's no surprise that the festive spirit is brimming over at Bramall Lane - I doubt even the most ardent Blades fans would have put 'fifth in the Premier League on Christmas Day' on their wish-list this year.
It's been more of a Nightmare Before Christmas for Watford supporters this season, but the advent of Nigel Pearson is already yielding results.
If he can lead Watford to back-to-back league wins for the first time since February against a side as in form as Sheffield United some might even consider it a mini-Christmas miracle!
Chelsea v Southampton (15:00 GMT)
Steve Wilson
MOTD commentator at Stamford Bridge
Southampton's win at Aston Villa on Saturday took them out of the bottom three and was their first away league win in three months. This is the club's third season in a row battling relegation - and whilst it's a battle I think they'll win, it does suggest that something needs to change at St Mary's - and not the manager.
Chelsea were always likely to suffer ups and downs with so much responsibility being given to players with so little top-flight experience - and that's been true over the last four weeks.
Having lost to West Ham, Everton and Bournemouth, they were absolutely terrific at Spurs. Frank Lampard has done better than anyone could have hoped with his kids - now they are able to sign players again, he must tread a careful path in the January transfer market.

Team news for the early game is in...
And there's a first start for Tottenham in the Premier League for Ryan Sessegnon.
The 19-year-old has made two substitute appearances in the competition but did start in the Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich earlier this month.
He is one of two changes for Spurs, while Brighton make five changes to the side beaten by Sheffield United on Saturday.

Aston Villa v Norwich City (15:00 GMT)
Steve Wyeth
BBC MOTD Commentator at Villa Park
A potentially decisive game, at a critical stage of the season, which both teams could be forgiven for approaching with trepidation.
Five-match winless runs are the short-term reasons they are in the bottom three, yet there may be a shared frustration that the alarming form can be traced back to results that had offered justifiable optimism.
Aston Villa have avoided defeat just three times since a handsome 5-1 win in the reverse fixture at the start of October.
Meanwhile, Norwich have struggled to replicate their phenomenal performance to beat Manchester City, losing nine of 13 since that win in September.
Bournemouth v Arsenal (15:00 GMT)
Mark Scott
MOTD commentator at the Vitality Stadium
Mikel Arteta never finished outside the top four as a player with Arsenal, but he takes charge of his first game as their boss with the Gunners having spent Christmas in the bottom half of the table for the first time since 1983.
Fittingly at this time of year, he's offering goodwill to all, with Mesut Ozil given a clean slate after his recent run-in with Freddie Ljungberg.
This game sees two of the three youngest bosses in the Premier League going up against each other, although Eddie Howe might be feeling like he's aged a lot lately, with Bournemouth having lost six of their last seven games, including all of the last three at home.
Everton v Burnley (15:00 GMT)
Michael Emons
BBC Sport at Goodison Park
It is just over eight years and seven months since Carlo Ancelotti was sacked in a corridor at Goodison Park, after the Toffees had beaten his Chelsea side 1-0 in the last game of 2010-11 as a season without silverware saw him dismissed, even though he had won the Premier League and FA Cup 12 months earlier.
Since then he’s won Ligue 1 with Paris St-Germain, the Champions League, Copa del Rey, Uefa Super Cup and the Club World Cup with Real Madrid, the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and, as recently as earlier this month, guided Napoli into the last 16 of the Champions League.
But now he’s back in the Premier League as 15th-placed Everton have made a huge statement of intent by appointing Ancelotti, a three-time Champions League winner as a manager after two European Cup successes as a player.
Ancelotti’s talking a good game, saying he can deliver Champions League football to Goodison Park in the next four and a half years. First, he needs to get them away from relegation danger with a Burnley side in the top half their opponents today.
A massive nine fixtures today in the Premier League, but with almost 10 hours of constant football it throws up the big question of: when you do you eat your Christmas Day left-overs? Go early on the packed lunch or wait it out until mid-afternoon?
While I ponder such a dilemma, let's have a look at what else is coming up in the Premier League today...
A win for Tottenham would put them back among that top six, at least for now...
Brighton, meanwhile, sit six points below today's opponents in 13th.
