    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

James Maddison gets caught by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Leicester have a free-kick just inside their own half. It is played back towards their own goal with Liverpool quick to close off passing options. Liverpool pressing well in these early stages.

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

You sense Ben Chilwell is going to have a busy evening trying to mark Mo Salah. Let's hope the Leicester full-back decided against the extra mince pie on Christmas Day.

  4. Postpublished at 4 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

Oh Jonny Evans is sloppy on the ball and gives it straight to Georginio Wijnaldum. The ball is played quickly to Mo Salah but he fires well over. A let off for the hosts.

  5. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Leicester 0-0 Liverpool

Alisson hits a wayward clearance out of play and then Jordan Henderson concedes a free kick with a foul on James Maddison. There are, possibly, still one or two nerves creeping despite those two quick chances for Liverpool.

Aaron: Klopp won't allow standards to drop but win here and Liverpool could afford to take it easy later down the line somewhere, in an "easier" game. 13 point advantage with a game in hand? Not even Liverpool can mess that up. I pray.

I'd take a point tonight. The Foxes are a fine team and this game is huge. 2-2 my prediction.

  9. 'You know he is going to hit the target'published at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    FT: Man Utd 4-1 Newcastle

    Manchester United

Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: "After going 1-0 down we made them make mistakes and we capitalised really well. We created chance against Watford too but we didn't take them. Mason [Greeenwood] is a great striker of the ball. You know he is going to hit the target more times than not. The way he strikes it is nice to see and he is so unfazed by whatever happens.

"The three of them [strikers] are a handful when we can get the space we did today. These boys will never give up, this club knows that towards the end we can nick a point or even three from losing positions."

On Paul Pogba's return to the side: "It is still a bit early for him, he has been out for a long time but he has to get used to being back on a big pitch. We have had some 5-a-side but not with 21 other men on the pitch,. He will get better and better."

On fixture schedule: "It is not fair to ask players to play two games in three days but we just have to get on with it, we are young and mentally strong and that means we will be ready."

    This is blunt.

"Bad equaliser. Worst second one. Poor third. Ridiculous fourth."

Tom McCarron: This is a huge game. A loss and we could wobble again, a win and confidence will be surging into 2020. 1st goal is so important tonight. Come on Liverpool!

  13. 'Too many mistakes'published at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    FT: Man Utd 4-1 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle goalscorer Matthew Longstaff: "When you come to Old Trafford you can't make as many mistakes as we did. The first 30 minutes we were pretty solid then we make three mistakes and you have a mountain to climb.

"The best thing about today is we have a game in two days time and hopefully we put things right.

"My goal is irrelevant when you get beaten 4-1. We need to pick up points."

Flames. Pyrotechnics and a spectacular light show. It's all a bit rock concert but Leicester City really building the mood ahead of this massive Premier League confrontation with leaders Liverpool.

And soon it will be that familiar loud blast on the huntsman's horn.

  15. The Greatest Show?published at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

If the game itself lives up to this build up then we're in for a thriller.

  16. 'Too many mistakes'published at 19:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    FT: Man Utd 4-1 Newcastle

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce speaks to Match of the Day: "For the last two or three months we have been hard to beat. I know it's Christmas but I don't think Man Utd can believe it, we've made too many mistakes.

"We had a bright half an hour and threw it away.

"The ridiculous thing is we haven't made mistakes like that for months and now we made one after another. Some made individual errors and as a manager you can't do much about it."

Ar vind: A pivotal game in the premier league title race. A very dangerous banana skin for Liverpool. Leicester at home are dangerous.

If Leicester win today then I think Liverpool will crumble and their season could be over by the end of January especially with their busy festive schedule.

  18. Postpublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    Leicester v Liverpool (20:00 GMT)

Liverpool have been imperious this season, dropping just two points.

Leicester have not been far behind them in terms of excellent form, although they are on a mini-slump of sorts with no wins from their last three games in all competitions following a run of nine successive victories.

If ever there was a time to get back to winning ways, it is tonight.

  19. Can Vardy haunt Liverpool again?published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2019

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at The King Power Stadium

The big screens at The King Power Stadium have just revisited recent Leicester City triumphs over Liverpool here - and Jamie Vardy was prominent in all of them.

He is the Premier League's top scorer with 17 goals this season and he will know the pressure is all on The Foxes tonight as they start the game 10 points behind leaders Liverpool in second place having played a game more.

If Liverpool come away with a win tonight, surely that is too much for anyone to claw back.

Sho: Nice to see some goals for once at home in the league. Unfortunately Ole's changes killed the game and any opportunity to score more goals.

Great Xmas present by Ole's boys. One thing was lacking...We should've scored at least ten! A real 'Brucey bonus' against a clueless magpies.
