    Burnley 0-0 Leicester

Burnley's turn to have a go.

Chris Wood collects the ball 25 yards from goal and, with no better options, opts to strike a shot that he doesn't catch properly and sends tamely wide.

After a slow opening 15 minutes, the game is starting to liven up.

    Pope almost called into action.

Ayoze Perez has a pop from range but before it can reach the diving keeper it is blocked by a Burnley body.

    Leicester warming to the task.

    Burnley 0-0 Leicester

    Great opening, spurned by Leicester.

Vardy collects a long pass forward, but is taken away from goal by the advancing Pope. He takes stock of the situation wide right and crosses in a low ball for the charging James Maddison, but instead of shooting the midfielder takes a heavy touch and the chance is gone.

    Just hit it.

Dwight McNeil has been one of the few bright sparks for Burnley this season. I think they will be looking to him to create a little bit more today because they will need that creativity with the lack of goals that they have had this season.

Sweet feet from Jeff Hendrick, who cuts inside his marker on the right and tentatively advances down the right. He is not a natural wide man, though, and you can see he lacks the true drive to get into an attacking area to cross, despite the urging on from the stands.

A Leicester man gets back at him to block the attempted delivery.

A small period of Burnley pressure, prompted by a free-kick launched into the box from deep, comes to an end when an over-hit pass down the right runs out for a goal-kick.

Rayan Mount: At this point, all I want is a Vardy hat-trick and a Maddison series of assists to save my FPL. Am i asking too much?

I was expecting, more fans here today. It's not full. It's a big game and one Burnley need to get points from. There are plenty of empty seats about. You are thinking about the importance this game could have for their season and you would expect the Burnley fans would be out in force.

Caglar Soyuncu has had to mop up a couple of times for Leicester already, and has done so well.

But the Foxes centre-back, sporting his Rambo 3 shaggy mullet, makes a bit of a mess of one long ball, that hits his head and drops for Jay Rodriguez to fire over.

Burnley may be fearing a backlash. Brendan Rodgers has cut some players loose. He has left out Ben Chilwell, time will tell if that is a good move, but I am expecting them to get back to form today.

Almost the best possible start for Leicester. A Jamie Vardy header sets them away in the Burnley half, but after being found in the box, Harvey Barnes' curling effort from an angle is straight at Nick Pope.

    Burnley v Leicester

After a moment of silence to mark all those Burnley fans who have passed away in the last 12 months - impeccably observed - the game is under way.

A big, big 90 minutes for both sides. The Clarets fans in good voice, doing their bit.

The players are in the tunnel. Time for some actual football.

Burnley are in a bit of bother. Seven defeats from their past nine league games has brought an alarming slide down the table. Eighth at the end of November, Sean Dyche's men are now just three points above the relegation zone.

Hernia surgery for key striker Ashley Barnes increases Clarets' concerns, as does a tricky run of fixtures. Manchester United and Arsenal are to come after facing a Leicester side who've had a little blip of their own.

That home defeat to Southampton was a big surprise but after a rare full week on the training ground I'm sure Brendan Rodgers will have them firing properly again.

Chelsea did not have to work hard last week to score the goals against Burnley. That was the critical thing. When you lose that belief as a team and go behind against the bigger teams it is very difficult. Part of the Burnley identity is that they make it difficult for the bigger teams but they haven't been doing that recently and it has shown.

I've a sneaky feeling Lawro might be right on this one. I'm going on nothing more than gut instinct here, but I can see Burnley getting a result.

Or maybe I'm just getting hoodwinked by the cold, the mist in the air and the idea that the Clarets are a scrappy bunch who react well to having their backs against the wall?

    Burnley v Leicester (14:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    Ex-Liverpool defender

Leicester's defeats over Christmas against Manchester City and Liverpool were to be expected - what was far more damaging was drawing at home with Norwich and getting beaten by Southampton in the same period.

The Foxes are still a good side and they will fancy themselves to win this game but I think we are going to see a reaction from Burnley here.

They usually bounce back a lot quicker than this and I have been waiting for Sean Dyche to turn things around - I am sure it will happen this week though.

    Prediction: 2-1

Ben Chilwell has obviously taken the bullet here for Brendan Rodgers. Sometimes the manager knows best. Is it the right time to pull him out for a game? There have been a lot of games. This is why managers get paid what they get paid.
