To all the fans crying out about Solskjaer in this game. We are a young team playing against a dominant Liverpool side which are oozing confidence. Yes it has hurt since the day Fergie left and we expect to be fighting but we can't keep switching managers. He is selecting the players who want to play for the club from the weak selection he has to choose from. Klopp has slowly built over the past few years and we need to keep faith that Solskjaer can do the same. Change needs to happen higher up before it'll happen on the pitch.

    Paul, Clevedon.

1-0 and both teams are happy. Liverpool with the 3 points, united knowing it could have been worse.

    Ben, Manchester

Very confusing for me when Daniel James and Greenwood are on the pitch at the same time. Especially because I'm an Evertonian.

Surely the ambition for United is a top-four place. To do that they have to add to their squad, which is too thin. This is Manchester United, but not as we know them.

    Liverpool 1-0 Man Utd

Divock Origi comes on for Sadio Mane to provide some energy in attack. Fabinho comes on in a more defensive measure, replacing Firmino.

I would say it is a huge boost for Liverpool to have the Brazilian back. But they've won every game without him.

In fairness to Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer he has gambled, but can Liverpool exploit that? What we do know is, from what we have seen from Greenwood so far, if he gets an opportunity he will take it.

Mata wants the ball. He thinks he has the key to unlock this Liverpool defence. He is given the possession he demands, but then chips his pass a tad too heavy through the box and out of play.

    10 to go.

For all of their dominance and all their chances, Liverpool are one moment away from having their lead whipped away. As a reminder, Martial's cross just floats above Greenwood, who was sandwiched between two defenders in the box.

James O'Sullivan: I don’t think I’ve seen a more 1 sided sport event since, well, 5am when McGreggor won in 40 seconds!

Suzudan: Can’t believe OGS kept Pereira on for 73 tortuous minutes.

So nearly brilliant. Alexander-Arnold's ball into the box is flicked back superbly by Mane but just a fraction behind the charging Firmino. In checking the retrieve the ball, the striker's shooting chance goes.

I can't believe the amount of stick Ole gets from united fans. He needs time and backing to challenge in 3 or 4 years time, judge him then. Or we will go without a league title longer than the 30 years Liverpool had to wait.

    Ollie, Zurich

Why can't the Liverpool haters just let them win the league in peace. Not my team but I'm happy to see someone different win it. Isn't that variety what separates the PL from the other European leagues?

Is this the solution to United's shooting woes? On comes Mason Greenwood for Brandon Williams. Juan Mata also joins the action, replacing Andreas Pereira.

Mark Mason: Frank @ 17:48 We are all waiting for you to tell us how you coach a slug?

Red Manc: Has anyone else noticed Liverpool do not put the ball on any part of the corner when taking corners

Ash Williams: Whatever the result I wonder what rubbish Solskjaer is going to come out with. UTD have been lucky. They’ve been battered and are lucky to still be in this.

More United pressure. This time, Fred can't get his shot away, though. Little signs of tension emerging from the stands.
