GOAL - Southampton 1-2 Burnleypublished at 60 mins

    Matej Vydra

    SMASH!

Decent finish this from Matej Vydra! He controls the ball well on the edge of the box, takes a touch to his right and absolutely smashes it past Alex McCarthy.

It's hit first goal since September 2018 in a 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

The crowd are getting frustrated too. There's a few whistles as yet another pass is sent back to Alex McCarthy.

Danny Ings tries to conjure up something from the clearance, injecting some pace to beat James Tarkowski but his dinked cross is too high for Shane Long at the back post.

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

This game needs spicing up a bit.

Both teams end up passing the ball back to their respective keepers before Nick Pope's rushed clearance goes straight out for a throw-in.

It's very compact in midfield and both defensive lines are well organised. Nothing in it.

  4. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Phil Bardsley clatters into Moussa Djenepo on the touchline. No booking.

  5. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Stuart Armstrong beats Charlie Taylor on the right and cuts back inside. The Burnley defender comes crashing in and brings him down.

Southampton use the free-kick to switch the play before being pushed all the way back to goalkeeper Alex McCarthy.

  6. 'Southampton look more likely'published at 13:44 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2020

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

    Steven Reid
Former Blackburn midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Southampton have started the second half well. They look the more likely of the two teams to score.

The wind is swirling all over the play so it is worth putting the ball in behind sometimes.

  7. Postpublished at 53 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Jannik Vestergaard plays a brilliant ball over the top for Danny Ings to run on to in the box. The striker's first touch lets him down though, and it rolls through to Nick Pope.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 51 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Matej Vydra turns sharply in the box and goes to ground under apparent contact from Jack Stephens.

There's a few appeals for a penalty. Was there enough contact? I'm not sure.

  9. Postpublished at 49 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Lovely stuff from the Saints, who are moving the ball around well. Sofiane Boufal slips it into the feet of Ryan Bertrand in the box but he can only blast it into the side-netting.

  10. Postpublished at 47 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Nick Pope slips as he clears the ball forward, under pressure from Shane Long. There's enough height on it though, so no problems.

  11. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Off we go. No changes at the break from either team.

Right, players are back out. Are we getting a winner?

  13. Manchester City Q&Apublished at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2020

BBC Sport's Simon Stone has been answering some of your questions on Manchester City.

What could it mean for the club? Will Pep Guardiola stay? What impact will it have on the players? Could it be an end of an era?

    Have a gander.

  14. 'I might have given them a bigger ban and fine'published at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2020

    Manchester City's ban from Europe

    BBC Breakfast

Football finance expert Dr Rob Wilson talking to BBC Breakfast: "It’s huge. It’s absolutely huge. I think seismic is probably the best word to use for it. While Manchester City might have expected what was coming, I don't think they really anticipated a two-year ban.

Put the fine to the side for a minute because that’s a bit of change for them really, but if you look at how it’s going to have implications on other sides around Europe, their player recruitment strategy, not to mention whether their manager is going to stay on, do they want to have a team that doesn’t play Champions League football. It’s going to make it very difficult and murky waters for them to wade through.

"I think the issue for me, it is more moral and ethical. We can argue about whether regulations are legal or not but Manchester City signed up for those regulations, they agreed to play to those set of rules. What they’ve done over the last few years, it seems, is have a bigger goal to score into. I think the penalties are absolutely justified, I might have gone further actually and given them a bigger ban and a bigger fine because when you look at others teams there is a status quo now and you can’t break into that."

  15. 'Southampton have reacted well'published at 13:28 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2020

    HT: Southampton 1-1 Burnley

    Steven Reid
Former Blackburn midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think after the early goal, Southampton reacted really well, Sofiane Boufal was heavily involved before going off injured and Danny Ings has reacted well too. During that period they were on top, but as the game went on Burnley grew into the game without really creating much.

  16. 'This is not over'published at 13:27 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2020

    Manchester City's ban from Europe

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport on Football Focus

I can see why you think that Manchester City should accept a Premier League points deduction this season, but that would be an admission of guilt. They fundamentally do not accept that they've done anything wrong. I was told last night by someone at the club that 'this is not over'.

They will fight this will every fibre of their being. They are going to push and push to get this case over turned.

  17. 'I'm not really sure if I'm bothered about the ban'published at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2020

    Manchester City's ban from Europe

    BBC Radio Manchester

Kevin Parker, chairman of Manchester City supporters association, talking to BBC Radio Manchester: "As a City fan, I am disappointed to a certain extent because you do want the best players and one of the ways to bring the best players is by playing in the Champions League. But as a fan, am I particularly bothered that we’re not going to be playing in the Champions League, I’m not really sure to be honest, seriously. I’m more disappointed this season that we’re not going to win the Premier League rather than how we’re going to do in the Champions League.

"City fans have always thought Uefa is the big boys club. This goes back as far as 2005 when Liverpool won the Champions League and they didn’t finish in the top four and there wasn’t a rule at that time that the winners played in the next year’s tournament so Uefa changed the rules so Liverpool could play in the following season, because they were Liverpool. Those things never change, the big boys, the Real Madrid’s, Manchester United’s, Liverpool, you name it, whoever they are that fall into the big boys group will always be favoured by Uefa. That will never be Manchester City because we’ve started to challenge that."

We've been getting reaction in all morning from last night's news that Manchester City have been banned from European competition for two seasons.

    Here's some of it...

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2020

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

A rapid start but it trickled out towards the end of that first half. Still nothing separating the two teams.

    All to play for.

  20. Postpublished at 45+5 mins

    Southampton 1-1 Burnley

Danny Ings moves it on to Stuart Armstrong, who links up with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Saints have numbers on the edge of the box but Hojbjerg's touch is poor and he loses the ball.
