Manchester City's ban from Europe
Finally from professor of football finance, Kieran Maguire talking to BBC Radio Manchester: "It is very difficult to police FFP. There are an awful lot of third parties involved in football clubs and it’s possible to pay players via sponsors and via commercial partners.
"Effectively, we’re looking at two things, can income be overstated and can costs be understated and both of them are much feasible. Costs might be shipped out to other clubs, you’ve got income in terms of commercial deals being overstated potentially because third parties just want to inject money into the club to ensure compliance with FFP.
"What’s the fair value of a sponsorship deal? Nobody actually knows, it really comes down to who has got the biggest, most aggressive, smartest lawyers involved in the case. I think Manchester City will be going to CAS with what they consider to be the best lawyers in the game."

Francesca Gunn: Pep won’t stay and none of the big stars will either. Sterling, de bruyne they don’t want to play out of CL for two years so they will go. Next couple of transfer windows will show if there is any real loyalty from the players towards city.

Southampton confirm Nathan Redmond is out with a muscle injury.
"It's hard to say how long it will take but for today he is out. It is a chance for other players to show up," said Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

What impact could it have on Manchester City's league campaign?
It has been reported , externalthat City could also face a Premier League points deduction because the league's FFP rules are similar - although not exactly the same - as Uefa's.
City have been drawn to face Real Madrid in the last 16 of this season's Champions League, with the first leg to be played on 26 February at the Bernabeu.
La Liga President Javier Tebas praised Uefa for "finally taking decisive action".
"Enforcing the rules of financial fair play and punishing financial doping is essential for the future of football," he said.
If Manchester City's ban is upheld, the fourth Champions League spot will go to the team finishing fifth in this season's Premier League.
That, ladies and gentleman, is currently Sheffield United. That's the Sheffield United who were playing in League One three years ago.
Chris Wilder could be managing Sheffield United in the Champions League, at home to Barcelona at Bramall Lane.
What. A. Story.

Southampton v Burnley (12:30 GMT)

Burnley boss Sean Dyche makes one change to the side that started the 0-0 draw with Arsenal on 2 February. Phil Bardsley comes in for the injured Matt Lowton, with new signing Josh Brownhill starting on the bench.
Burnley XI: Pope, Bardsley, Tarkowksi, Mee, Taylor, Hendrick, Westwood, Cork, McNeil, Wood, Rodriguez

Manchester City's ban from Europe
More from professor of football finance, Keiran Maguire talking to BBC Radio Manchester: "The financial implications of not playing in the Champions League are very significant. Liverpool made over 100m from winning it last season, they also got bonuses from sponsors and then the six or seven home matches to get to the final can be worth 5m each so if you put that all together Champions League participation can be worth up to 150m for a club and it can be a quarter to a third of a club’s income the size of City.
"Pep might have a clause that would allow him to go, a ‘bad economic’ clause. In terms of players, playing in the premium European competition is very attractive so this will make it more difficult to recruit. But if you go back 10 years ago, Manchester City were able to attract players that were good enough but the thing is if the income is going to fall by 100-150m a year, while the owners have that money, they are in a catch-22 situation where if City are going to spend the money to recruit players they could fall foul of FFP again."

On-loan Tottenham defender Kyle Walker-Peters makes his debut for Southampton. New signing Josh Brownhill is in the Burnley squad.

Wolves 0-0 Leicester
Wolves missed out on the chance to close the gap on the top four last night as they were held to a goalless draw by 10-man Leicester City amid more VAR controversy.
Just before half-time, Willy Boly looked to have opened the scoring for the hosts after a short corner routine but his close-range header was ruled out with Pedro Neto judged to be offside in build-up.
Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury was sent off 14 minutes from the end of normal time after collecting two bookings in the second half.
But in a game full of incident and goalscoring chances, the main talking point was Boly's disallowed effort.

Manchester City's ban from Europe
Professor of football finance, Kieran Maguire talking to BBC Radio Manchester about Manchester City's two-year Champions League ban: "The two-year element of it was a surprise. I’m just wondering whether if it’s a bit of positioning by Uefa who expect to get knocked back by CAS so they’ve thought if they put in a very severe punishment and then its reduced to one year, which is what some people had been expecting, then they’ll be reasonably happy.
"There are certainly some people from other football clubs that appear to have a vendetta against Manchester City and those people do have placings at Uefa as well.
"It does appear to have an element of double jeopardy and the club are being prosecuted twice for the same issue."

There's plenty of questions. One of them is whether Pep Guardiola will stay at Manchester City beyond the end of this season given the European ban (which they are appealing, of course).
He has said in the past his Man City reign would be deemed a failure without a Champions League trophy.
So will he stick around? Where might he go? Or will he help the club through it? Send in your thoughts using #bbcfootball or by texting (old school) to 81111 (UK only).
Southampton v Burnley (12:30 GMT)
Southampton have a fully-fit squad available, with on-loan Tottenham defender Kyle Walker-Peters in line to make his debut.
Midfielder James Ward-Prowse is set to feature despite being taken off on a stretcher during the FA Cup defeat at Tottenham.
Burnley could be missing Matt Lowton and Charlie Taylor, with both defenders due to be assessed for injuries.
Forward Ashley Barnes and Johann Berg Gudmundsson remain out but new signing Josh Brownhill is in the squad.
Manchester City's ban from Europe
Simon Stone
BBC Sport reporter
This is massive news. Given the speed of their statement in response, it is fair to assume Manchester City were braced for this decision, but maybe not the severity of it.
City have said publicly and privately they intend to fight the decision. They are adamant an independent judiciary - they do not think this was - will clear them.
However, as it stands, the club are out of the Champions League for two seasons, which raises massive immediate questions.
Pep Guardiola has always maintained he would remain at City at least until his contract expires in 2021 but has also said he trusts the club's hierarchy when they tell him they have done nothing wrong.
Whether they win the Champions League this season or not, will Guardiola decide to move on? And if he does, what about the future of the club's star players, many of whom joined because he was the manager.
And does this mean an extra place in the Champions League will be available should the Blues miss out?
It is an absolutely fascinating situation and, clearly, we are far from a definitive final outcome.
I take it back. The biggest news is Jose Mourinho's haircut.
"My barber was bad!"
The BIG news this weekend broke last night, as Manchester City have been banned from European club competition for the next two seasons. They were found to have committed "serious breaches" of Uefa's club licensing and financial fair play regulations.
The reigning Premier League champions have also been fined 30m euros (£25m).
The decision is subject to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Manchester City say they are "disappointed but not surprised" by the "prejudicial" decision and will appeal.
