At this rate could 4 points for third placed teams not be enough? Switzerland could end with 4, Austria could end with 4, Scotland could end with 4, Slovakia could end with 4 and so could Portugal/Germany/France

The entertainment that Germany & Portugal are giving here is like night & day compared to the absolute rubbish that was served up last night - more please!

The quality of football and the pace of football has been brilliant. The longer the game goes on, Santos will have to put an extra midfielder in there. Germany's passing and movement has been magnificent. But Portugal on the counter attack look really threatening. It's an incredible game.

Greg Morter: One of the best first halves of the competition with both Portugal and Germany going for it, more of the same in the second please guys no pressure

Liam Quinn: Portugal, Germany, France, Spain, Italy would annihilate England and they would not need to leave 2nd gear to be honest … Also winner is from that group

Portugal are the first European nation ever to concede two own goals in a single match at a major tournament (World Cup or Euros).

They have scored as many own goals today (2) as they did across their previous 103 games in all competitions combined.

Seth Gogo Egoeh: That right side of the Portugal defence is not working! All the chances Germany are creating are coming from there! Semedo is not covering himself in glory at all.

    Good game, good game.

Who needs a centre forward when the opposition can score the goals for you?

    Germany lead at the break.

Germany then break and carve open Portugal again.

Serge Gnabry cuts in from the left and lets fly, but Rui Patricio is equal to the strike.

The mindset of both teams is fantastic. I do think Portugal have a problem with the two big boys in central midfield. They're getting played around quite a lot and played past. That might be something Santos will look at at half time.

You've got a 38 year-old centre half making overlaps in the final third? It's incredible What about the desire from him to get up there. Brilliant counter attack again.

Andy Rudd: Germany making it look simple, balls into the ‘corridor of uncertainty’ and players in that 6 yard box putting pressure on defenders to make mistakes. That is what England should have done yesterday.

Ryan Howard: What was that about it "all going stale under Low"? Never write off Germany...

A super, first-time ball from Cristiano Ronaldo to find Diogo Jota's run but the Liverpool forward is crowded out in the area.

Where's Bruno Fernandes? Not seen anything from the Manchester United playmaker so far.

There's nothing Guerriero can really do about it. He's facing his own goal, it comes off his shin and they find themselves 2-1 down.

    Raphael Guerriero (own goal)

What a turnaround and this one is definitely an own goal!

The first goal was given as an own goal to Ruben Dias and this one is converted into his own net by Raphael Guerriero following Joshua Kimmich's cutback.

The Portugal full-back could do nothing about it and Germany are suddenly in front with two goals in four minutes.

Brilliant. It's that pass from Kimmich to Gosens, he volleys it, smashes it across the face of the goal and Havertz gets across Dias. You can't say they haven't deserved it. The movement was better, a lot more direct. It's thoroughly opening up the game and it's no more than what Germany deserve.
