Portugal almost get a second and that might have been game over.

It's Bernardo Silva again with the pick-out, a sumptuous dink to the back post for Manchester City team-mate Ruben Dias who heads wide from six yards out.

Ronaldo is just wonderful. What is he, 36 now? Playing at the top level. He makes a long 80 yard run to get on the end of it. Talk about desire. Most players would be retired by now, this guy just doesn't want it to end. I can't put into words and it's really difficult to describe the quality of that counter attack. It was just beautiful.

We can see that coming 60 yards away. Where were the German defenders? Look at the run he makes straight through the middle of the pitch. What a ball. He's onside Jota, he's unselfish but cut it back for Ronaldo to finish. That is magnificent counter attacking football.

Ronaldo just run 80 yards at full pelt to get on the end of that. The guy is just a phenomenon. We'll probably never see the likes of him again. We should enjoy him while he's still here.

    Cristiano Ronaldo

    Wow!

This is absolutely devastating from Portugal. They have been pegged back all game but score with their first attack.

Bernardo Silva had been quiet but springs to life by picking out Diogo Jota in the area.

The Liverpool man is one-on-one with Manuel Neuer but not wanting an ear-bashing at half-time, he lays the ball on a plate for Cristiano Ronaldo to pop the finish into an open net.

Ronaldo's 107th international goal, just two short now of equalling Ali Daei's all-time record.

It's all Germany, Portugal are on the back foot.

It was a hell of a ball in and it was a great goal. Germany have started well here. They're on the front foot, they are passing it crisply. I wouldn't say Portugal are rattled but there is a tempo and energy from the Germans.

    Chalked off.

There was a handball from Thomas Muller in the build-up to the goal and question marks over whether Serge Gnabry was offside too when he slid in to try and stretch for the ball.

Either way, Anthony Taylor raises his arm into the air and awards Portugal a free-kick.

A let off for Fernando Santos' men.
