GOAL - Portugal 1-1 Germanypublished at 34 mins

    Ruben Dias (own goal)

    Leveller!

Thoroughly deserved for Germany, they haven't played badly at all and get their reward.

It is created by their best player so far Robin Gosens, who watching the ball onto his trusty left boot before volleying a cross back into the danger area.

In comes Champions League final goalscorer Kai Havertz with what looks like another big goal, but the ball come off Ruben Dias from six yards out.

Germany have been excellent but my worry is they look a bit anxious on the final bit of play. They just need to take that little bit of extra care with the final ball.

When ball was played through to Jota, Ronaldo was offside so got an unfair advantage to ball in net when Jota passed it to him. So should have been ruled out for offside.

It's not full force but the left foot is up and catches him on the top of the ankle with the follow through. That's a sore one.

Both of Portugal's centre-halves Ruben Dias and Pepe go down in the space of two minutes after a couple of meaty German tackles.

They're getting stuck in, that's for sure and not often someone gets one over on big Pepe.

To be fair to Germany the response from the goal has been good. They've had a couple of half chances again. Just wondering if the drinks break will take a little bit of momentum out of their flow a little bit and give Portugal a bit of respite.

Good handling from Rui Patricio, cleanly taking in Joshua Kimmich's low cross.

A spillage there would have caused a problem.

Ronaldo challenges himself. He's in the best physical condition, best mental condition. He's got the footballing ability of a god. He's not abused his talent one bit. He's rinsed every drop out of what he has.

Don't do it Shamoon! We should all just be grateful that we've got to enjoy this era where we've seen both of their genius talents!

    Tom in London

To try to beat the rush on this topic; Ronaldo has done it time and again at international level, Messi hasn't. Also, of course Messi would succeed wherever he went, but Ronaldo has excelled in the three toughest leagues in the world.

    Paul, in Huddersfield

That's why Ronaldo is the greatest of all time... What a sprint to get there... Total effort & desire to score.

Portugal get a free-kick when the two teams get back under way after "taking on fluids".

Diogo Jota meets it on the penalty spot but sends his free header over.

Should have done better from that position.

Germany start without a proper centre forward yet again. One wonders what exactly their plan is to score a goal without picking a striker.

Can't quite tell whether Germany are causing Portugal problems at the back or if the defending champions are comfortable.

Serge Gnabry dances right and left before putting a ball into the area which sails all the way across for a goal kick.

Miroslav Klose would have put that in if he was still playing, Germany don't have a centre forward to aim the ball at.

Germany have problems here defensively. They need to concentrate. Going forward they look good but they're leaving themselves a little bit naive defending and a team of this class like Portugal will punish them again.

PRK: Looks like Portugal may finish first in the group with this form. England finishing first may mean they play France in the R16.
