I'm a neutral, but even I'm screaming at the screen at the ref, who for some reason fails to see that Romelu Lukaku is being dragged back as he charges toward the Portugal box on the break.

I can only think he didn't blow because Lukaku made it look like he wasn't impeded through his pure strength. Like a traction engine pulling a toddler.

All of the most hyped players ahead of this game, the ones we want on the ball, are seeing precious little of it.

It's a patient defensive passing game followed by a midfield tussle, with the occasional punt in the mix.

De Bruyne is the only one that's shown a bit of energy who's chasing around, trying to get the ball back, trying to look for Lukaku. The rest of the players are not . Portugal for me are running this football match.

Kevin de Bruyne has just misplaced a pass. Repeat, Kevin de Bruyne has misplaced a pass. It was an easy one too - a square ball that should have continued a promising move but instead ends it with it's mediocrity.

It's always the same isn't it? The expectation destroys you. You would think we would learn by now not to get so hyped up about these big games.

You can see why Belgium are not pressing because when they've pressed, that means the back three have to come up to the centre circle basically up to the half way line. Then that is easy for Portugal to say if Ronaldo spins, if Jota spins I'll just drop one in behind because they've got the legs on them. It's really difficult for when Belgium want to press.

The crowd cheer a little flick from Cristiano Ronaldo. They're easily pleased, these lot. Either that or they're just desperate for some entertainment.

They're quite happy to sit back and soak pressure up and keep the ball when they need to. We usually see Belgium on the front foot pressing teams back, asking a lot of questions. It just shows you if they come up against a quality side, where's all that confidence gone?

They're not exactly mid-1990s Wimbledon, but Portugal are attempting a lot of launched balls forward. No doubt trying to catch the mature Belgian back three out.

Axel Witsel has completed all 24 of his passes tonight so far, including 16 in the opposition half, the most of any player.

He's having to do some defensive work at the moment, though.

It was a fantastic strike. When he was running up and he's stood there with his arms down by his side you think go on where's this going to go. That was a great save. He really caught that well down the side of the wall. Courtois got down with a good side. Portugal have had the best two chances.

He's just not really daunted by any task is he, Ronaldo? That free-kick was way out, from a tough angle, but he made it work.

It swerves, it dips, it gives Thibaut Courtois a right old job, but the Belgium keeper does it well, dropping to block the drive from Cristiano Ronaldo.

For a second, it looks like Joao Palhinha might have a simple job to nod in on the rebound, but the ball is too high.
