It's been a few hours now since England beat Germany in a knockout game at a major tournament for the first time since 1966.

I don't want any of those images to fade.

So, as Pat Sharp would say, let's re-run the fun!

We start with Raheem Sterling's curling shot, saved by Manuel Neuer...

This is a European Championships that just keeps on delivering!

Right at the death, in the third minute of added time in extra-time, Ukraine have only gone and won it at Hampden.

Artem Dovbyk is the scorer. And Ukraine's new national hero.

The reaction to it all is here.

I said to myself before this live that I didn't want to hark back to the past. English football fans are only too eager to do just that.

This England v Germany game was about the present and a potentially optimistic future that Gareth Southgate's excellent group of young lads could forge.

However, just to frame exactly why this game today was important, I may need to look back a bit.

My first major tournament was the 1990 World Cup. West Germany broke my young heart. Euro 1996 was bang in the sweet spot of my youthful football watching. Again, Germany cut me deep.

I would have given anything for England to have won those games back then. I was a kid, it meant more. Why I'm so happy today is that young football fans like I was then get to have that moment.

I'm old and jaded now. It's not quite the same. But boy do I envy all you young England fans now. Savour every second.

After all, we'll probably lose in the quarters! ;)

    Big moment at Hampden.

Marcus Danielson has been sent off for Sweden. His lunging, late tackle on Artem Besedin was spotted on by VAR and, after consulting the pitch-side monitor, ref Daniele Orsato has whipped out the red card.

The game is 10 minutes into extra-time and you can follow it here.

There is going to be an extra 30 minutes at Hampden Park. It has finished 1-1 and so we have extra-time.

Probably not the worst news from an England perspective.
