Reading look like facing Cardiff or Carlisle in Round Four. Jordan Obita has a header saved but is able to get onto the loose ball and fire home.

    Shrewsbury 0-0 Bristol City

Bristol City get a free kick 30 yards from goal after five minutes of sustained pressure. Josh Brownhill fancies it but puts it over for a Shrewsbury goal kick.

Just one shot on target between these two sides in this second half.

    Newcastle 3-0 Rochdale

Rochdale keep plugging away, playing nice stuff between the two boxes. Can they get a goal to give their travelling fans something to remember the day by?

It's been a difficult evening for Davinson Sanchez. It's as if he's put somebody else's boots on.

When that ball came in he didn't sort his feet out at all. It's a bread and butter clearance and he's casual. He got away with one there.

I think I'd be in his ear if I was playing alongside him.

  5. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2020

    Tottenham 2-0 Middlesbrough

Jose Mourinho makes a change to freshen up his attack as Lucas Moura is replaced by Son Heung-min.

Very flat atmosphere at the Tottenham Hostpur Stadium. Felt more like a friendly than a cup tie.

Into the last 15 minutes in our games, apart from at Tottenham. Only at Shrewsbury are we looking at extra time...

Tanganga playing very well for a young player, hard to believe it's only his second game.

    Tottenham 2-0 Middlesbrough

Paulo Gazzaniga keeps out Lewis Wing's well struck free kick as Middlesbrough threaten again from a set piece. One goal for the visitors and it would set things up for a tense finale.

    Tottenham 2-0 Middlesbrough

Goodness me! We've seen some duff shots in this game but this is the worst of the bunch as Ryan Sessegnon lashes over from three yards out. Luckily, the offside flag is up to spare his blushes.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:14 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2020

Off the bar! Lucas Boye, who opened the scoring for Reading, now hits the bar with a rising strike from just outside the area.

Callum Lang has just come on as a substitute for Shrewsbury and has an almost immediate impact, seeing his shot with his first touch denied by Daniel Bentley. Big save by the Bristol City goalkeeper.

It's amazing how well Japhet Tanganga has settled into these last two games, coming in from nowhere. The thing that sticks out in my mind is why have they not been playing him? He looks so calm on the ball, he's got that physical nature to his game, he's strong and wants to get forward, and he keeps the ball well. I've enjoyed watching him play. I hope he gets more game time.

The visitors are the first to blink as attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer comes on for Jamie Patterson. This game certainly needs a creative spark, can Palmer provide?

  16. Subs soon?published at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2020

    Shrewsbury 0-0 Bristol City

Mark Elliott, BBC Radio Shropshire summariser: "I think Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts might want to freshen up the line-up sooner rather than later to replace some of the legs that have done so much work in the last 60 minutes. They’ve dropped off the pace they certainly can play at."

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2020

Blackpool have been on top since the restart and Sam Walker has to make a flying save to keep out cup specialist Nathan Delfouneso.

Davinson Sanchez has looked shaky at times. I don't know if he's misreading the flight of the ball with the weather because it's windy, but there have been other parts to his game.

With Jose Mourinho coming in, one thing people are looking at is where are the clean sheets? Where is the stiff side to their defence?

The Champions League is starting again soon and he'll be looking for a defensive partnership he can rely on. Hopefully Sanchez can play himself into some form.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January 2020

Back under way at Tottenham, can Middlesbrough serve up a response? No changes from either side at the break.

Newcastle are going to host Oxford in round four then as Dale continue their pretty football with no end product. Andy Carroll is getting a spin up front.
