How are Southampton not winning this game? The pressure, the chances created. They are the team that, in this Mourinho era, have created the most chances against Tottenham.

Literally nobody wants extra time here, do they? The teams should be allowed to go straight to penalties if they want.

Southampton are so close to leading. Jannik Vestergaard gets a powerful header onto the corner and Hugo Lloris palms it over the bar like a volleyball.

Southampton are turning Tottenham over in the central areas and Spurs are afraid to put the ball into the midfielders because of that press.

Jan Vertonghen has still touched the ball more than any other Spurs player, 48. But five Southampton players have had more touches - with Ryan Bertrand leading the way on 74.

We talked about the first half being a game of transitions, well the second half is exactly the same, except Tottenham have changed their shape slightly. Hopefully, the game will see more goals because for a cup tie, it's fantastic to watch.

Spurs can't properly clear from Southampton's latest attack and Nathan Redmond's cross is caught by Hugo Lloris.

Spurs should have a more dynamic midfield now as Dele Alli - who has recovered from Raheem Sterling's dangerous tackle the other day - replaces Tanguy Ndombele.

It's 1-1 on goals and yellow cards. Spurs sub Gedson Fernandes fouls Sofiane Boufal and gets a booking.

Spurs have a corner, it lands to Tanguy Ndombele and his shot is deflected... but not into the goal this time. It goes to safety.

Shane Long is furious with the officials. Jack Stephens finds Long and he flicks a shot towards goal. Toby Alderweireld blocks it but the referee didn't see the deflection and gives a goal kick instead of a corner.

You just wonder if Southampton are going to rue the missed chances they have had in this game. They have been dominant - not just in terms of possession but in the way they have approached the game.

Daddy Aiosa: Saints so annoying to watch seriously, they waste too many clean chances, too many , same thing they did against Liverpool and lost by four they are sure repeating it here again.

James: Saints really are banging on that door!! Surely we aren’t going to see the dreaded extra time are we? I just can’t see Spurs scoring again, they look like they played 90 minutes yesterday.

Jan Vertonghen looks like he is playing a grandmaster in chess, he appears to be concentrating so much as he walks along the touchline. He's still deep in thought on the bench.

Southampton defender Jan Bednarek is booked. Lucas Moura span past him in the centre circle and the sub tried to stop his run illegally.

What a counter-attack. Sessegnon with one of his rare breaks puts the ball down the left-hand side and Son with a couple of step overs, whips a lovely cross in between the two centre backs and Moura has to score. It should be 2-1 Tottenham.

Lucas Moura's missed header was Spurs' first attempt since Southampton's own goal in the 12th minute of the match.

Jose Mourinho had to do something. On comes young Portugal midfielder Gedson Fernandes and off comes centre-back Jan Vertonghen.
