  1. HALF-TIME Rangers 1-0 St Mirrenpublished at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

More than half of Rangers' starting line-up did not play in Friday's Scottish Cup win over Stranraer and they have looked ring rusty against a stubborn and defensive St Mirren.

Centre-half Nikola Katic had been their main threat, heading off target from one of their many corners.

But Steven Gerrard's side had not hit the target until Borna Barisic's low cross was deflected into the path of Jermain Defoe to score his 16th goal of the season.

  2. HALF-TIME Livingston 0-0 St Johnstonepublished at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

It took the home side just over half an hour to register their first shot - on or off target - and neither side have showered the opposing goal with attempts since, but Livingston have slowly grown into this match-up.

Livi's Steve Lawson's curling free-kick from 25 yards out struck the post, marking a turn of the tide after St Johnstone edged the opening 30 minutes.

Jon Guthrie also came close just before the half with a header knocked just wide of the post and into the side-netting.

Tommy Wright may be celebrating 300 games in charge of the Perth side, but going into the dressing room Gary Holt will be the happier of the two bosses.

  3. HALF-TIME Hibernian 0-1 Hamiltonpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

Hamilton are well worth their lead at Easter Road.

The visitors have been determined and well organised and took their one golden chance when Alex Gogic rose above his marker and headed home a corner at the back post on 18 minutes.

Hibs look anxious and devoid of ideas. Hamilton look right at home.

    Livingston 0-0 St Johnstone

Jon Guthrie with one of the best chances of the game just before the half draws to a close as he powers a header into the side-netting.

  5. HALF-TIME Aberdeen 0-1 Motherwellpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

So, Liam Donnelly's goal separates the teams at the interval.

Aberdeen haven't wanted for possession, but they have struggled to cleave open an energetic and diligent Motherwell rearguard.

Andy Considine diverted straight at Mark Gillespie with their only real opportunity.

At the other end, in-form Christopher Long brought a fine stop from Joe Lewis before being forced off injured, while his replacement Christian Ilic also blasted off the midriff of the Aberdeen goalkeeper from distance.

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson will be thrilled with that first half. As things stand, his team are going four points clear in third place.

  6. HALF-TIME: Kilmarnock 0-1 Celticpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

Odsonne Edouard's ridiculous finish has Celtic 1-0 up at the break. Kilmarnock have been bright in spells, but still should probably be further behind.

  7. HALF-TIME Ross County 0-0 Heart of Midlothianpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

Ross County started well with three chances - two from Billy McKay and one from Blair Spittal - but the game has drifted into a lull since then.

Both sides need something different in the second half.

  8. goal

GOAL Aberdeen 0-1 Motherwellpublished at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Liam Donnelly

It's been a game of few chances so far, but right on the stroke of half-time, Motherwell take the lead.

Fit-again Liam Donnelly gallops away from Shay Logan at the back post to meet a swerving free-kick, and power his header past Joe Lewis.

That's a 10th goal of the season for the Northern Irishman.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Aberdeen 0-0 Motherwell

Substitute Christian Ilic blasts a shot from the left angle of the box but it's straight at Joe Lewis and cannons off the Aberdeen goalkeeper to safety.

  10. Postpublished at 20:28 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Celtic

Celtic completely switched off there as Niko Hamalainen roams down the left wing and hooks a cross into the box. Fraser Forster stays rooted to his line and, fortunately for the Celtic goalkeeper, Chris Burke can't get to the back post in time to finish.

    Ross County 0-0 Hearts

Two teams struggling for confidence in Dingwall and playing like it.

Ross County have had three good chances though after defensive mistakes from the visitors.

Hearts are have yet to make any impact in the final third. Steven Naismith fell to the turf inside the County box rather theatrically which angered the home defence, but his efforts didn't bring the penalty he was hoping for.

Kilmarnock have been playing that way where they sit deep, but Celtic do that to you. They've got to get five yards or so up the pitch, come away from that penalty box, because they're just asking for trouble.

  13. goal

GOAL Rangers 1-0 St Mirrenpublished at 20:21 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Jermain Defoe

Rangers have had almost all the possession without threatening to score - until now.

Borna Barisic's low, hopeful cross takes a nick off a defender and into the patch of Jermain Defoe, with the former England striker reacting quickly to drive home from 12 yards

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Livingston 0-0 St Johnstone

Livi's Steve Lawson is so close to breaking the deadlock in a game of few chances - his curling free-kick from 25 yards out soars round the defensive wall and strikes the post.

  15. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Aberdeen 0-0 Motherwell

Big blow for Motherwell. Christopher Long, who has scored four goals in his past two games, is forced off after a heavy tackle on the edge of the Aberdeen box.

    On comes Christian Ilic.

    Hibernian 0-1 Hamilton

Hamilton have started very well at Easter Road but they have now been forced in to taking off striker George Oakley after he seemed to pull his hamstring, following a slip on the grass. Marios Ogkmpoe comes on as his replacement.

  17. 'Sheer pace' from Frimpongpublished at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

The pace, that pass quickly to him then a little left drop at his shoulder from Frimpong then onto his right foot, opens up at blistering pace because Hamalainen is no slouch. The cross was fired, he killed it stone dead and ended up dragging it through players. Suddenly it's opened up, goalkeeper to beat and he shows so much composure to fire it through his legs. Sheer pace, sheer quality for that Celtic opener.

  18. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Rangers 0-0 St Mirren

Rangers have been struggling to create chances against well-organised visitors, but they threaten from a corner.

However, centre-half Nikola Katic can only head over the crossbar under pressure.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January 2020

    Aberdeen 0-0 Motherwell

Best chance of the game so far, and it falls for Andy Considine.

Shay Logan's cross from the right is flicked on by Sam Cosgrove, and falls for the onrushing defender.

He can only divert it straight at Mark Gillespie from close range, the Motherwell stopper blocking with his feet.
