It just didn't sit right for Mason Mount. It was a tremendous throw from Cesar Azpilicueta. Mount was just off balance and it's gone high, high up into the stand.

Chelsea have to defend really strongly, they're going to have to weather a storm from time-to-time. I think Bayern are that good. But Chelsea have got to get up the pitch and create chances and more importantly take them. Frank has spoke about how disappointed he's been at times with his team in both final thirds. Against a side of this magnitude they can't afford to do that.

Chelsea's fans loudly registering their disapproval of VAR - and we haven't even kicked off yet.

It is easy to sympathise with them as Chelsea have been on the receiving end of three poor VAR adjudications in the last week, firstly when Harry Maguire escaped a red card and Kurt Zouma had a goals wrongly ruled out against Manchester United.

And of course on Saturday when Tottenham's Giovani Lo Celso escaped a red card for a dreadful tackle on Azpilicueta, which VAR officials at Stockley Park then admitted was the wrong decision.

  15. 'Listening to CL anthem is a massive moment'published at 19:56 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February 2020

Chelsea v Bayern Munich (20:00 GMT)

Delighted to see a player take the Champions League tune seriously.

Chelsea's Mason Mount said: "When you hear the Champions League anthem you kind of pinch yourself. I remember speaking to Tammy Abraham about it and saying when the song is on it’s just an unreal feeling.

"It’s kind of overwhelming to be involved and to hear that song that many legends in the past have been able to stand there and listen to. It’s obviously a massive moment."

He was only 13 when Chelsea beat Bayern in the 2012 Champions League final.

"I was at home, with my family, we were all watching it. I remember it very clearly. We were all jumping around in the front room celebrating.

"It’s quite surreal, how in the past it’s happened and now we’re playing against Bayern and a legend’s the manager."

Olivier Giroud is key in terms of them getting up the pitch, but you look at the back three. They are going to be tested. Bayern have such good attacking players and Robert Lewandowski is the most in-form striker in football.
