    Falkirk 0-1 Hearts

    John Hughes
    Former Hibernian manager on Sportsound

    Quote Message

The goalkeeper had no chance. Fantastic penalty - he opens the body up and gets some pace on it

  3. Well then...published at 56 mins

    Falkirk 0-1 Hearts

The first nine minutes of this second half have made up for the lack of action in the first.

What a game we have on our hands now.

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 54 mins

    Falkirk 0-1 Hearts

Declan McManus has hit the post again! This time a shot across goal from a tight angle, so unlucky, twice in a minute!

In the aftermath, Falkirk want a penalty for handball but nothing given.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 52 mins

    Falkirk 0-1 Hearts

So close to an instant Falkirk response!

A corner eventually falls to Declan McManus, he swivels and shoots but it bounces off the post and clear.

  6. GOAL Falkirk 0-1 Heartspublished at 50 mins

    Sean Clare

Up steps Sean Clare, who buries it right in the corner!

  7. PENALTY to Heartspublished at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

Liam Boyce is brought down by Michael Doyle.

  8. Nervy Hearts startpublished at 46 mins

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

Well, Clevid Dikamona didn't exactly inspire his team in the first-half, and he's almost put them in big trouble 30 seconds after the break with a short pass back to Joel Pereira. Declan McManus was lurking, but Pereira is out quickly to clear the danger.

  9. SECOND-HALFpublished at 20:23 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

And we're back under way at Falkirk Stadium.

Shall we have a few shots this half lads? Yeah, let's have a few shots.

  10. 'Nothing between the sides so far'published at 20:20 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    HT: Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

    Allan Preston

    Quote Message

If anyone is going to win this game one of them needs to put their foot on the ball and play a few passes because at the minute neither are doing that. There's been nothing really between the sides - Hearts enjoyed the better possession but Falkirk defending well

  11. Feisty affair so far...published at 20:17 Greenwich Mean Time 8 February 2020

    HT: Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

    Allan Preston
    BBC Scotland summariser on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Falkirk must be delighted so far - they've defended really well, they just have to watch their discipline with the likes of Dixon and Miller. Clare for Hearts as well already in the book. Neither side want to go down to 10 men

  13. HALF-TIME Falkirk 0-0 Heartspublished at 45 mins

Well, quite a lot happened there, without anything really happening.

Hearts have had three penalty appeals, one of which was probably justifiable.

They started better, but Falkirk have grown into the game and Josh Todd had the best chance of the half, but his effort was wide.

We've had three yellow cards, the conditions are really poor, and at this point, I'm not sure whether we're more likely to have a goal or a red card.

Anyway, the second half should be fun.

  15. 'Should have hit the target'published at 41 mins

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

    John Hughes
    Former Hibernian manager on Sportsound

    Quote Message

The conditions played their part there in the ball getting through Dikamona - all credit to Todd, he's well-advanced, gets his shot away, but he should have hit the target

  16. CLOSE!published at 38 mins

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

    Josh Todd...what a chance!

A ball over the top gets the better of Clevid Dikamona, and Todd is through on goal. But the January signing from Dundee ends up missing the target.

    Promising for Falkirk, though.

  17. Postpublished at 36 mins

    John Hughes
    Former Hibernian manager on Sportsound

    Quote Message

Hearts really need to start feeding it into Boyce and Washington's feet, they're trying to play too many balls through the gaps and it's just running right through

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 33 mins

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

Now this one looked more like a penalty.

Sean Clare gets to the ball in the box, and Robbie Mutch comes sliding out of his goal unnecessarily and looks to have taken Clare out.

Referee John Beaton takes his time but decides against giving the spot-kick.

  19. We have a shot!published at 31 mins

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

Declan McManus has the first shot of the game!

Unfortunately it's from 30 yards out and doesn't go anywhere near the goal.

    But hey...we've had a shot.

  20. 'Referee handling game well'published at 29 mins

    Falkirk 0-0 Hearts

    Allan Preston
    BBC Scotland summariser on Sportsound

Paul Dixon's also in the book...

    Quote Message

That's a yellow - he's taken Washington out of play. I think the referee has handled the game really well, he's handled the conditions - I think all of the yellow cards we've had in the game so far are completely justified
