Reading manager Mark Bowen thought his team might have had a hangover from Saturday, when they beat Luton 5-0, as his side could not break the deadlock against Huddersfield.

"We'll take the clean sheet and you always have to be happy with that but I thought we were lacking that bit of quality and ruthlessness in the final third.

"Going into the last 15 minutes, we were flat and sloppy in our decision-making.

"We didn't really do enough quality-wise in that final third to turn one point into three.

"Maybe there was a bit of a hangover from Saturday as we were a bit lethargic. We cant take our foot off the pedal between now and the end of the season."

Time for a bit more reaction from the earlier games before we call it a night.

Huddersfield came away from the Madejski Stadium with a point as they edged closer to safety, and manager Danny Cowley was pleased with his side's showing.

"I thought it was a really good performance, it was a game where we had much more energy than we showed on Saturday, much more attacking intent.

"We just lacked that little ruthless edge but to keep three consectutive clean sheets at this stage of the season in these circumstances is great credit to the efforts of everyone.

"We're in touching distcance of the 50 points target, but we don't quite know if that's going to be enough. We're focused on the remianing four games and they're coming thick and fast."

Sixth-placed Cardiff's defeat this evening means their cushion over the rest of the chasing pack remains at three points.

Derby County, who are seventh, play West Bromwich Albion tomorrow.

Wins for Brentford and Fulham earlier kept their hopes of a top-two finish alive, but Albion and leaders Leeds both have games in hand to be played over the next couple of days and are still favourites to take those automatic promotion spots.

Blackburn hold on through a nervy period of stoppage time, and claim a result which blows the Championship play-off race wide open again.

Rovers showed determination and class to come from 2-1 down at the break to win.

Adam Armstrong's brilliant long-range strike clinched victory, ending Blackburn's three-match losing streak.

Tony Mowbray's side are up to ninth in the table, and are five points behind Cardiff with four games to play.

Blackburn get a chance to wind the clock down for a few seconds as Lewis Travis is fouled.

The visitors are taking their time over things, as you'd expect.

Cardiff sub Callum Paterson hurls another long throw into the Blackburn box but the home side get the ball away this time.

This result will keep their season alive, and make several other teams who are chasing the play-offs very happy as well.

Charlton manager Lee Bowyer was full of praise of his players despite losing to a Brentford side who are chasing automatic promotion.

"I'm proud of the players tonight, there's not many times you'll hear me say that when we lose a game.

"But tonight you're playing against a top, top Brentford side who have been hammering teams left, right and centre, before the lockdown and after the lockdown, they're the in-form team in our division and we've just given them a right scare.

"On another day we might have come away with something, but we've just got to keep showing that fight and I'm sure we'll be OK."

The Bluebirds have 10 minutes plus stoppages to find an equaliser. They have barely threatened since the break.

A dominant Brentford snatched all three points against Charlton after going a goal down, and Bees boss Thomas Frank knew how important the victory was as they made it six wins in a row for the first time at this level.

"This is a massive win. I'll not stand here and say this didn't mean anything, it was a big win.

"We know every game is a big win, but I just had a feeling because of all the circumstances, that this game would be very, very difficult.

"They have a very good ability to compete against the best sides because they defend and they are very well fixed and they have a good structure."

A draw between the bottom two sides did little for either Luton or Barnsley in their respective survival bids, and Tykes boss Gerhard Struber was left disappointed with the result.

"We deserved victory today. We had so many chances in the first half, three or four top chances but we didn't use them.

"It's painful but it's not frustrating. We delivered today a big fight. That was our goal today.

"In the end one point in our situation is not helpful and we need more. But we look forward and we'll fight until the last game."

What response do Cardiff have now?

The Welsh side are behind for the first time in the game, and this result will keep their play-off place in doubt.
