  1. goal

GOAL: Cardiff 1-1 Blackburnpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

    Danny Graham (22 mins)

From a set-piece, Rovers are level!

Centre-back Darragh Lenihan dives to head Stewart Downing's corner towards goal.

The header comes back off the post and then rebounds towards the goal off Bluebirds keeper Alex Smithies.

Danny Graham is there to tap it in from a yard out to save Smithies from scoring an own goal.

The home defence claim an offside and the celebrations are a bit muted - but Graham WAS onside as he followed up the header.

    Cardiff 1-0 Blackburn

Blackburn reply with a long-range effort from Joe Rankin-Costello which skews well wide of Alex Smithies' goal.

Cardiff will be very happy with their start.

The Bluebirds are heading six points clear of seventh-placed Derby as things stand.

  3. goal

GOAL: Cardiff 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 20:01 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

    Will Vaulks (14 mins)

Cardiff have the lead with an absolutely beautiful goal.

A ball over the top from Joe Ralls sets Will Vaulks running into space behind the Rovers defence.

There is a covering defender and Vaulks takes a glance into the centre as he gets on the ball, and sees little support.

The ball bounces just inside the box on the left and he strikes first time with the outside of his right boot, lifting the ball over Rovers keeper Christian Walton.

The ball kisses the bottom of the bar on its way in. That was a great finish, and the very definition of nonchalance.

    Cardiff 0-0 Blackburn

Ten minutes gone in Cardiff, and Rovers have worked their way into the game after a bright start from the hosts.

Joe Rankin-Costello gets into the Bluebirds box, but Adam Armstrong can't make the most of his cut-back.

Then Armstrong puts a teasing low ball in, and Rovers right-back Ryan Nyambe puts the ball over the bar.

That was a really good chance for the visitors. Nyambe really should have hit the target.

Brentford come from behind to snatch all three points.

That's six league wins on the bounce for the Bees, a feat that they have never accomplished at this level before so that is a job very well done by Thomas Frank's men.

Charlton remain two points above the drop zone.

Honours even between the bottom two, and tempers are flaring at the final whistle.

Luton boss Nathan Jones is giving the officials an earful.

Barnsley are three points from safety, with Luton a point further back. Time is running out for these two.

    Luton 1-1 Barnsley

And almost a carbon copy of that left-wing cross at the other end, with Barnsley unfortunate this time!

    Breathless stuff.

    Luton 1-1 Barnsley

There's almost a cup-tie feel to this conclusion at Luton.

A devilish left-wing cross from the hosts somehow evades everyone in the Barnsley box, and now Luton have a free-kick 30 yards out...

It's floated in and Barnsley's Jack Walton gleefully gathers the flick-on.

Cardiff have made a decent start in south Wales.

Right-back Dion Sanderson makes a nuisance of himself down the right and Rovers centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo has to head his cross away from danger.

    Ethan Pinnock (85 mins)

I was wondering if I had to type in it was coming...

It was only a matter of time really.

    Let's see how Charlton respond.

    Aapo Halme (83 mins)

    A big goal for Barnsley!

A couple of minutes after coming on, Aapo Halme stabs home from close range after Elliot Simoes' shot was blocked.

A draw doesn't really suit either team - can either find a winner?

    Brentford 1-1 Charlton

Said Benrahma again has another crack this time from 35 yards, should be bread and butter for Charlton keeper Dillon Phillips who spills and it's cleared away.
