    Brentford 0-1 Charlton

Brentford have responded well since going a goal down, actually it's all them.

Rico Henry puts in a good cross and Mathias Jensen gets his head onto it but Addicks keeper Dillon Phillips does very well to tip it over.

Not much for either keeper to do so far, Huddersfield are coming into the game now though putting on a bit of pressure onto the Reading defence.

    Luton 1-0 Barnsley

    It's all action at Luton!

A defensive mix-up affords Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt a chance, Luton goalkeeper Simon Sluga comes flying off his line and brings the player down just outside the box.

It's a yellow for Sluga - there was plenty of cover behind him - and the Barnsley free-kick strikes the wall.

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Fulham

Sammy Ameobi wins a corner down the Forest right, almost wriggling past Joe Bryan in the process.

The set-piece is wasted as the ball drifts out of play before coming back into play and reaching the far post.

    Luke Berry (13 mins)

The first goal was coming at Kenilworth Road and it's gone to the hosts.

Elliot Lee's angled effort hits the post, but former Barnsley man Luke Berry is there to follow up with a left-footed finish high into the net.

    Luton 0-0 Barnsley

Luton midfielder Luke Berry has his side's first meaningful attempt on goal, a header which is well saved by Jack Walton.

Berry's free-kick from out wide causes problems in the Barnsley box but is eventually cleared.

There's an attacking intent from both sides, for whom even a draw probably won't be a satisfactory outcome.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

    Nottm Forest 0-1 Fulham

Fulham will move four points off the top two if they can hold on to this scoreline.

The Whites are still to play second-placed West Brom, who are not in action until tomorrow.

Forest's faint hopes of the top two will surely be over if the Reds fail to turn this one around.

Sabri Lamouchi's side will have to show far more quality if they are to come back.

Ryan Yates and Nuno da Costa are on for the hosts, with Samba Sow and Joe Lolley replaced.

  8. goal

GOAL: Brentford 0-1 Charltonpublished at 18:10 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

    Macauley Bonne (8 mins)

Great start for Charlton, as Brentford concede a Championship goal for the first time since 29 February.

The ball is crossed in by Alfie Doughty and Jake Forster-Caskey nods it back across the box for Macauley Bonne who heads it home.

Brentford won't be happy with that, the keeper and defender looked to have got in each other's way as they both jumped for the ball.

    Reading 0-0 Huddersdield

Both sides probing in the early stages at the Madejski.

Gabriel Osho puts in a dangerous ball into the box for Reading but it's dealt with by Huddersfield.

If you're a Barnsley fan, you can feel very encouraged by your team's start.

A tremendous build-up ends with Jacob Brown's powerful first-time effort from 20 yards being pushed wide by Simon Sluga.

    Luton 0-0 Barnsley

Barnsley have had the better of the opening couple of minutes at a wet Kenilworth Road.

Conor Chaplin's header, which we'll describe as "looping" as it came down with snow on it, eventually had to be tipped over by Luton keeper Simon Sluga.

  12. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

Our three 18:00 BST games are getting started.

There's a big basement battle at Kenilworth Road, as Luton host Barnsley.

Brentford are looking to cut the gap to the top two as they host Charlton in a London derby.

And struggling Huddersfield travel to mid-table Reading.

  13. Royals lacking home comforts as Terriers visitpublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

    Reading v Huddersfield (18:00 BST)

Huddersfield Town are just about keeping out of relegation danger, having taken four points from their past two games.

But the Terriers are two points above the bottom three, although a 12-point deduction for Wigan would increase that gap to five points.

Karlan Grant remains integral to their survival bid, having scored 18 goals in a struggling side.

Reading secured their first win since the restart in style when the Royals beat struggling Luton 5-0 on Saturday.

Forward Yakou Meite netted four goals in the win at Kenilworth Road, taking his tally to 12 Championship goals for the season and 16 in all competitions.

The Berkshire club are heading for a mid-table finish but the Madejski Stadium has not been a happy hunting ground this season.

Reading have lost 10 of their 20 home games in 2019-20 and have only one win from their past eight on home turf.

  14. Brentford's BMW ticking over nicely ahead of derbypublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

Brentford have been flying since lockdown and find themselves top of the Championship form league over the past five games.

The Bees have taken maximum points over that time, winning their games by an aggregate score of 14-0, and are five points off automatic promotion.

Thomas Frank's men are the top scorers in the Championship, with 73 goals from 41 games. And their 'BMW' front-three partnership of Said Benrahma, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins have accounted for 52 of those strikes.

The west Londoners have never won six in a row in the second tier, and will need to record a derby victory to do so.

Charlton Athletic make the trip across the capital having been beaten by local rivals Millwall last Friday.

That was the first time Lee Bowyer's men have been beaten since the restart, leaving the Addicks two points above the bottom three.

  15. Hatters and Tykes set for relegation showdownpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

It's a veritable battle royale at the bottom of the Championship, and we're served up with the definition of a relegation six-pointer at Kenilworth Road.

Luton Town prop up the table and are five points from safety as things stand, while visitors Barnsley are one place above them and just a point better off.

A defeat this evening will leave the losers deeper in the mire, but a point won't be much help to the Hatters or Tykes either.

  16. Bottom two look to keep in touchpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

Looking ahead to the games at 18:00 BST, the big game comes in the bottom six.

Saturday proved to be a damaging day for the bottom two.

Barnsley and Luton lost 4-0 and 5-0 respectively, with the Tykes beaten by fellow strugglers Stoke City.

The bottom of the table comes with the caveat that Wigan are set to be deducted 12 points by the EFL for entering administration, putting the Latics bottom on 38 points.

However, the club have appealed the sanction.

That technically puts the bottom two a point closer to safety - though both clubs have an inferior goal difference to the sides around them.

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

Harry Arter's strike separates the sides at the break.

A moment of quality in an otherwise drab half.

    Harry Arter (45+4 mins)

    What a strike!

Fulham midfielder Harry Arter lets fly from 25 yards out and Fulham have the lead just before the break.

His left-footed effort heads into the top right-hand corner and Forest keeper Brice Samba could do nothing about it.

  19. Postpublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

    Nottm Forest 0-0 Fulham

A decent opening for Forest as Matty Cash puts in a good cross from the right.

The ball drops to Lewis Grabban 12 yards out after he got ahead of his man.

But Grabban can't get his effort on target, and the ball goes well wide. He complains he was being held by MIchael Hector.

  20. Postpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 7 July 2020

We'll have four minutes of injury time at the end of the first half at the City Ground.
