    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

West Ham boss David Moyes has been pictured in the stands at Charlton today. Reports suggest he might be interested in signing Wigan's Antonee Robinson and Cedric Kipre.

If that's the case, he'll have been impressed. They've both been superb.

Kipre is an absolute rock at the back, while athletic left-back Robinson looks more and more like the Championship's Andy Robertson.

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

The Championship's leading goalscorer Ollie Watkins goes to control the ball in the Stoke box but lets it slip under his foot and out of play.

That just about sums up Brentford's afternoon so far. Is a place in the Premier League falling out of their grasp?

  3. SUBSTITUTION (Brentford)published at 14:14 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Final throws of the dice for Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

Tarique Fosu and Shandon Baptiste - both signed from Oxford United earlier this season - replace Bryan Mbeumo and Henrik Dalsgaard.

Less than six minutes of normal time remain.

  4. Postpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

More like it from the visitors.

A slick passing move which ends with Emiliano Marcondes forcing a decent save from Stoke keeper Adam Davies.

The corner is taken short and Said Benrahma has a go from a tough angle but it's well over.

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

They're just in to the final 15 minutes now at The Valley, where Charlton's search for a much-needed equaliser continues.

Brentford have been so good for so long - and they have picked the worst possible day to falter.

There has got to be a big push coming. The stakes are so incredibly high.

  7. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Emiliano Marcondes puts his foot through the ball but the free-kick dips too late and goes over the Stoke bar.

Another moment gone for Brentford, and we're into the last 10 minutes.

  8. Postpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Foul on Halil Dervisoglu - Brentford have a free-kick in an extremely enticing position.

Though their set-pieces have not been up to scratch so far today...

I've said it before but I'll say it again.

If Brentford fail to score in these last 13 minutes, they will surrender their advantage in the automatic promotion race to West Brom - who themselves thought they'd thrown it all away by losing to Huddersfield last night.

However if the visitors can somehow find a goal they will (almost certainly) reach the Premier League with victory against Barnsley on Wednesday.

  10. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

With 20 minutes to go at The Valley, here's the second-half drinks break.

Time for both sides to regroup.

  11. Postpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Ollie Watkins cuts in off the left flank, drives and sees his shot blocked by Stoke defender Danny Batth.

This is going to be attack v defence from here on in, you would suspect, however Emiliano Marcondes has just drifted a corner straight out of play for a goal kick.

So frustrating for Bees boss Thomas Frank.

  12. CLOSE!published at 14:05 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

It's another chance for Charlton but Jason Pearce heads over the bar from a corner. He was relatively unchallenged in the middle and he'll be frustrated not to hit the target.

Moments earlier, Wigan made their first change as goalscorer Kieran Dowell was replaced by Lee Evans.

  13. YELLOW CARD (Stoke)published at 14:04 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Moments after coming on Tyrese Campbell goes into the book for Stoke for kicking the ball away.

Brentford haven't failed to score in a Championship game since January - this would be a particularly bad time for that proud record to end.

  15. Postpublished at 14:01 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

The Addicks have spent almost all of the second half so far deep into Wigan's half. Can they break down this well-organised Latics defence?

  16. SUBSTITUTION (Stoke)published at 14:01 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Tyrese Campbell is on for Sam Vokes in a like for like change for the hosts.

Campbell may have a lot of chasing to do in these closing stages as Brentford probe for a priceless goal...

This game is drifting away from Brentford.

Manager Thomas Frank is issuing instructions during the drinks break but there needs to be more purpose from his team.

Time is ticking on and they are not being very effective in their attacking play.

    Brentford need to score.

  18. SUBSTITUTION (Brentford)published at 13:59 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Two changes for the Bees - Halil Dervisoglu and Sergi Canos on for Rico Henry and Mathias Jensen.

Boss Thomas Frank is going to go all out for a goal as we approach the final 20 minutes.

  19. Postpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

It feel like almost everyone - aside from West Brom, Fulham and Leeds fans - really wants Brentford to get something from this to keep automatic promotion in their own hands.

But it really hasn't been their afternoon so far. Stoke have defended well and found a couple weaknesses in the Bees defence.

More changes incoming from the visitors, I think...

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 13:57 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

Charlton's Naby Sarr curls a direct free-kick around the Wigan wall and it's heading for the bottom corner. However, David Marshall dives to his right to pull off a strong and important save.
