Bresla Stephenson: Sorry Brentford fans - as a Chelsea fan, don't want yet another London derby next season.

Tony D: Stoke fan for a day to allow Leeds to seal the Championship without kicking a ball this weekend. I spy a guard of honour at Pride Park...

    The hosts need a goal.

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

We're into the last half hour at the Bet365 Stadium.

West Brom and Leeds fans will be watching with interest.

On one hand you feel a Brentford goal is only a matter of time, but their final ball has been lacking and Stoke have carried threat from crosses into the box at the other end.

  5. Postpublished at 13:50 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

Wigan's Kieran Dowell delivers a left-footed cross that finds Kieffer Moore at the far post, but Moore's header loops onto the roof of the net.

  6. CLOSE!published at 13:49 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

A first big opening for Brentford.

After some excellent work from Bryan Mbeumo, Ollie Watkins cuts the ball back for Josh Dasilva but his close-range effort skids wide.

That's Dasilva's last act as Emiliano Marcondes comes on in his place.

As another aimless pass drifts through to Adam Davies, Brentford boss Thomas Frank is starting to get a bit concerned.

He is stood in his technical area, either with his hands in his pockets or folded, trying to work out what to do.

This was not in the script at all.

    How are West Brom feeling?

  8. Postpublished at 13:47 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

Charlton have started the second half with energy and purpose. They're controlling the possession at the moment, searching for an equaliser.

If the score was to stay like this, Wigan would move 13 points above Charlton in the table, ahead of the Addicks by a point even if their appeal against their 12-point deduction is unsuccessful. Crucial.

  9. CLOSE!published at 13:45 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

The hosts nearly double their lead!

Target man Sam Vokes gets to James McClean's fine cross but the header is just wide of the far post.

A let-off for Brentford, who really need to be peppering the goal at the other end.

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Nick Powell fouls Brentford's Christian Norgaard around 25 yards out but the resulting free-kick is wildly overhit, out for a Stoke goal kick.

Thomas Frank is not happy, turning his back to play while chewing some gum.

  11. SECOND HALFpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Charlton 1-2 Wigan

Much later than they did up in Staffordshire, they're just getting the second half under way at The Valley.

Charlton, in their traditional home kit of red shirts and white shorts, get the game going again, badly needing to fight back in the next 45 minutes as they sit just two points above the drop zone.

The hosts make a double change at the restart as Albie Morgan and Jonny Williams both come on. Sam Field and Jake Forster-Caskey go off.

Gurdeep Sohi: As a Wolves fan I really want to see West Brom go up - there have been too few Black Country derbies in recent years.

Here's something you probably won't hear much, but I guess to rekindle a rivalry it makes sense.

As things stand, automatic promotion is back in West Brom's hands.

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Stoke can't hold the ball up while Brentford's Ollie Watkins is a bit too keen at the other end and is flagged offside.

I have a feeling this is going to be a frantic second half!

  14. Postpublished at 13:37 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

Brentford start as they mean to go on.

Bryan Mbeumo and Josh Dasilva link up down the right and the ball falls to Rico Henry just outside the Stoke box, but the full-back's strike is wayward.

  15. SECOND HALFpublished at 13:34 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

    Stoke 1-0 Brentford

There's no need to overstate the importance of this second half for Brentford - they need at least a draw to keep automatic promotion in their hands going into Wednesday's final round of games.

A draw would realistically be enough for Stoke to confirm their safety - will they be able to keep the visitors' attacking talent at bay?

  16. Tranmere name Jackson as new managerpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

Mike Jackson has been confirmed as Tranmere's new manager, succeeding Micky Mellon, who left Rovers to become boss of Dundee United earlier this month.

Jackson was Mellon's number two at Prenton Park.

Tranmere will play in League Two next season, having been in the drop zone once the final positions in League One were calculated by a points-per-game method.

  17. Donald steps down as Sunderland chairmanpublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 18 July 2020

Stewart Donald has resigned as chairman of League One club Sunderland.

Earlier this week in an interview with BBC Radio Newcastle, Donald confirmed he is still actively looking to sell the club after two years as owner.

Donald said in a club statement: "Holding this position has been a privilege, and not one I have given up lightly.

"Results and performances on the pitch have simply not been at a level befitting of Sunderland’s history and potential.

"I fully recognise that has caused immense hurt and, ultimately, the buck for the club starting a third successive season in League One stops with me."

Brentford were controlling this game without really looking as though they were going to score.

It was a reasonable tactic given the situation they are in because a draw would be a great result for them.

All that has changed now though. Can Brentford change their ways?

At the break, Jamal Lowe and Kieran Dowell's goals - either side of Alfie Doughty's fine volley for Charlton - are keeping Wigan's superb form going.

They lead in this huge game at the bottom.
