Bit surprised to see Almiron going off but Steve Bruce had an arm around his shoulder and was probably saying 'I don't want to risk you any longer.' He's one of those players who would play 24 hours if you let him.

The last time there were as many as four away matches won at the quarter-final stage of a single edition of the FA Cup was in 1986-87.

    Terrific defending from Danny Rose!

Benjamin Mendy's cross is there for Gabriel Jesus to volley but Rose bravely sticks his leg in the way and gets caught.

He wins a free-kick inside his own area. Important touch!

Kevin de Bruyne tries to pick out Raheem Sterling in the box but for once, he gets the delivery wrong.

Clash of heads or a clash of cultures between Andy Carroll and Aymeric Laporte?

The good thing is football has room for both!

Jim Adams: If City do win, would this be the first time that all four quarter-finals have been won by the away side since 1987?

I'll get the stats team on it, Jim.

Much better from Newcastle. They find space on the right but Javier Manquillo's cross is poked away by a defender.

Andy Carroll is still protesting about it too. If you're watching on BBC One, you could lip-read what he said too.

I won't type it out... there's kids reading.

I can see a slight improvement from Newcastle this second half. Man City will ask the question 'can you keep the ball just like us?" And that's what Newcastle have to start doing. Saint-Maximin looks the one player who can play at this level with City. This system now will help him play a little bit more football.

Andy Carroll wins another header and barges into Aymeric Laporte at the same time. He's penalised for it but I think that's a bit harsh.

Allan Saint-Maximin is desperate for the ball. He flashes a fairly decent cross past the six-yard area.

Raheem Sterling flicks it on for Gabriel Jesus in the box but he's offside. A let off!

Wonderful effort from Mahrez. He really let rip with that shot but just couldn't keep it underneath the crossbar.

Riyad Mahrez sees Karl Darlow off his line and tries to catch him out with a long-range strike towards the top right corner.

He catches it well but it's always rising and it sneaks over the crossbar.

Deldude: Should Manchester United be getting worried about the Chelsea semi-final? Truth is you can’t go scot free with Chelsea all season playing them 3-5 times . They hurt where it is most painful.

Marshall James: All Mancunian final then so it is...

Newcastle are certainly pressing higher up the pitch now they have switched to a 4-5-1. It gives their midfield more licence to support Andy Carroll, who was as isolated as a polar explorer in the first half.

Benjamin Mendy's cross is scrambled away by Newcastle. David Silva then finds himself in space and sets up Mendy again but his cross is over the head of Riyad Mahrez.
