Leandro Trossard then goes sprinting down the left, beating one, then two Liverpool players with his pace.

He cuts it back into the middle and Neal Maupay is about to poke it in from about two yards out before Naby Keita gets a very important touch on it. SO close!

Urban Bourbon: Liverpool's youth prospects, many of whom have signed professional contracts lately, are frankly frightening.

Brighton have the ball in the back of the net but Pascal Gross is offside so it won't count. Nice idea, as they look to go over the top again.

It's taken Brighton 20 minutes to realise they have to go long sometimes to beat the Liverpool press.

Mohamed Salah tries to get in on the right but the pass isn't quite there. Jurgen Klopp signals for the team to keep up the intensity.

Brighton then break down the left as it's slipped in for Pascal Gross. He tries to cut it back into the middle but Georginio Wijnaldum sticks a toe out. It pops up for Leandro Trossard to strike, with Alisson already to ground, but Neco Williams comes across to make an excellent block!

Sheffield United

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder tells BBC Sport whether he celebrated the late winner as a fan or a manager: "Bit of both!

"I really enjoyed watching my team tonight, right the way through it was a great effort. We were stretched in terms of numbers, but I thought it was a committed performance and one that ability wise had the hallmarks of a proper Sheffield United performance.

On John Egan's second goal in two games: "I just pulled him as we were coming off - I think the 10 goals he should be getting are a bit beyond him.

"It reward for a positive second half performance. We've had to defend really well but we wanted to carry a threat going the other way and I think we did.

European aspirations? "Nobody has talked about anything other than putting a shift in and a performance in. We wanted to move our points total from 48 and we've moved it."

Jordan Henderson is caught late by Neal Maupay, who puts him under pressure as he passes it back to Alisson.

West Ham United

West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski: “We are all disappointed with the result and performance. We all knew what was at stake but we lost the game.

"We are in a difficult situation. We had our chances and didn’t take them and in some cases maybe were a bit rushed with the decisions, we could have been a bit more patient.

“We started to be a bit ore direct when we had time to stick more to the game plan.

"Every game feels like an FA Cup final where there are things at stake. We have to stay cool in a tricky moment."

Alexis Mac Allister has to jog off to the sidelines to tidy up a bloody nose following an aerial collision with Joe Gomez.

His shirt's a mess. Very much like Brighton's defending so far.
