Sadio Mane gets in behind Aaron Mooy on the right but his chipped cross for Mohamed Salah is straight into Mat Ryan's arms.

Aaron Connolly is then fed through and he has a brief opportunity to shoot but doesn't take it which allows Joe Gomez to come across and get the tackle in.

He gets the better of a tussle with Tariq Lamptey, drives to the byline and Pascal Gross comes across just in time to deny the cut-back to a hungry-looking Sadio Mane, ready to score.

Liverpool move out after clearing the initial corner and it's whipped dangerously back in. It's nodded on and Dan Burn is left unmarked at the back post.

He reacts late and ends up skewing it wide, allowing a Liverpool defender to clear it off the line. Scramble!! What a chance.

Jordan Henderson fancies a second. It comes over from the left and he hits it cleanly with the laces on the half-volley but it's straight at Mat Ryan.

Brighton go up the other end through Tariq Lamptey, who does exceptionally well to hold off Andy Robertson and eventually they win a corner.

What a talent he is.

Lewis Dunk concedes a corner and Trent Alexander-Arnold plays it short to Naby Keita. He curls one in but Tariq Lamptey is there to hook it away.

It's a wonderful ball from Naby Keita - the weight, pace and direction of it was perfect as Mohamed Salah is able to gather it within his stride.

He races through, cuts across so he's a few yards out but can't beat Mat Ryan, under pressure from the keeper and the defender.

They are playing some good stuff, Brighton. I've been impressed with them tonight .

The two goals of course came from overplaying at the back but they've recovered and they have been a joy to watch.

They've made a good start to the second half.

Nice build-up from Brighton around the box but Naby Keita is composed as he intercepts, then brings it out with Jordan Henderson supporting.

The Liverpool skipper tries to pick out Mohamed Salah but Lewis Dunk mops up.

Brighton move it around midfield before Tariq Lamptey has a go from long range and gets it all wrong. It flies well wide.

Up the other end, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain gets the better of Lamptey and plays a dangerous ball in towards the near post. Roberto Firmino can't quite get there and Mat Ryan gathers it in.

Neal Maupay gets beyond Joe Gomez but Trent Alexander-Arnold comes across to cover. He then loses out to Dan Burn, who feeds it back into Maupay but Liverpool have a throw-in near the corner.

Really nice defending from Jordan Henderson, who picks out a Neal Maupay knock-on with a backheel flick to Trent Alexander-Arnold.

His ball over the top is too long for Mohamed Salah.
