Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Match of the Day: "I saw two very good football teams tonight, both trying to play football. They had a brave formation and set up but we had a super solution for that. Our high press was outstanding but when we lost the ball in the wrong moment it was really difficult.

"They deserved the goal so we just had to adjust a few things like our protection and position in midfield and it helped. The beginning was outstanding and the end was good again. I couldn't respect more what Graham [Potter] is doing here - they made it a really tough game."

On Neco Williams: "The yellow card was the only reason [he came off]. He was good but I cannot ask a 19-year-old not to make another challenge anymore on a yellow card. We asked a lot, we put him on the wrong side and asked him for a really hard press. We asked for a lot but he can do that, he was good but yellow card was too much."

On chasing the points record: "It's not important for me, I'm not interested in any of this but I want to win football games. For sports people in general it might be important. We are champions and it could be softening but it is not - the boys go with everything.

"We now have 92 points and last season we had 97! We got five points more than this last season - that's unbelievable, I have no idea how we did that."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Its not an ideal start and its my responsibility - I asked them to play that way, the decision making could be better but they showed personality to claw back into the game. We created chances before then scoring a really good goal. We tried to play, we went toe to toe and there were lots of positive performances for us.

"I think the scoreline can affect you but if you analyse the chances we had in the first half they were good chances. They are a top side who can hurt you, with unbelievable players everywhere. I'm proud of the players, they stuck with it and they played a good game and we were not able to take the three points.

"We would probably have liked to erase the first 10 minutes if we could, we had to open up a bit and we did a lot of things well and we can learn from the whole game. We need to try to improve and that's what we will do.

"We are in a unique situation. No one could have predicted a pandemic or playing behind closed doors, there's no history to go off,n we are in a unique place and must keep fighting for the points and we will do that until the very end."

Brighton boss Graham Potter, speaking to Sky Sports: "We played well, over the course of the game we gave a good account of ourselves - good personality after going 2-0 down in the manner we did.

"Great personality to drag ourselves back into the game and created chances before we scored a really good goal. There are positives and things we need to learn from, we have to improve as well and that includes myself.

"It's my responsibility. You're going to get mistakes in football. Our decision making can improve. We wanted to be brave and play our game against the best, it's the way to learn and improve. The way we responded was really good. The boys gave everything and I am really happy with them.

"It doesn't help when you give them a start but overall we had some good opportunities. The players got themselves back in, lesser teams could have crumbled and we didn't."

Liverpool's double goalscorer Mohamed Salah, speaking to Sky Sports, on his header from Andy Robertson's corner: "We trained on that yesterday and two days ago - finally Robbo gave me an assist and I'm happy with that [he chuckles]."

On his number of assists being overlooked: "I don't know why but I think I have a good number since I came here. In my position I think I'm doing well."

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "It wasn't a perfect game for us but we've shown when things get difficult we can bounce back. We came here to win, there are things in the performance we can pick up on.

"We know they would want to play out and we wanted to win the ball back high up the pitch. We tried to force them into mistakes and we punished them early doors.Overall we are happy with the win."

On goalscorer Mohamed Salah: "He has his targets, he's around the Golden Boot [race] and it's something he wants to retain. He's a world class player who scores so many goals for us and we try to get him on the board as much as possible."

On Neco Williams, who was brought off at half time: "It's his Premier League debut and something he'll never forget. It maybe hasn't gone they way he would want it to but he's a young lad and he needs to make mistakes to learn from them. He'll learn, he'll progress. He's showing signs of being a really good player and has the potential to be world class."

On receiving a guard of honour as champions: "It's something you're not really used to but its a nice feeling and something to be proud of. It doesn't change our focus going into the games."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to Sky Sports: "We started really well. We had to adapt a little bit as we knew what they wanted to do but it was a little bit hard to defend. We left one or two players in a position where if we won the ball we had players in the counter-attack position. We got the first two goals with super balls but we could have scored more. I said to the boys at half-time they could have been 2-2 too. It was a nice game to watch!

"We don't have an influence on what the other team do. We just have to react. They left two offensive players between the line so when they won the ball it was difficult to protect. When you lose the ball in the wrong moment it was difficult to defend. So they deserved the goal but we scored the third goal then could have scored more with some really good chances."

On Neco Williams' PL debut: "I know in football, everybody thinks it's not good if you take a player off after 45 minutes. He had a yellow card and we didn't protect him well enough on the left. It was his first professional start so I cannot tell him not to tackle. I liked a lot of his stuff, he will learn so there is absolutely no problem. I liked a lot how he played."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey speaking to Sky Sports: "They started sharp. We started slow then got into our tempo, played the ball around and stuck to the gameplan but it wasn't enough in the end.

"We just try to implement what the gaffer and the coaching staff say. We did that in parts."

Liverpool are now on 92 points. They need nine points from their remaining four games to beat Manchester City's record Premier League points total of 100.

That's three wins from four. They've got Burnley at Anfield next, followed by Arsenal away, Chelsea at home and Newcastle at St James' Park on the final day.

It's relentless from Liverpool. Mo Salah is walking off shaking his head, he knows he should have had a hat-trick tonight.

I believe Brighton are playing better football, they gave Liverpool a game.

Both teams were at it tonight and it was a great spectacle.

Don't know who Mohamed Salah will be more annoyed at for not getting the hattrick - Andy Robertson for not playing that early cross or himself for missing a free header.

He was desperate to score another!

Liverpool have now reached 30 wins in a season faster than any team in the history of English league football.

Incredible!

Liverpool get the job done again, pretty comfortably in the end. But Brighton had chances and Graham Potter will be pleased with the performance.

James Milner slots a brilliant ball through to Takumi Minamino but he's not quite strong enough to hold off the defender, gets pushed wide and can't get the shot away.

Moments later, Mohamed Salah heads over from a few yards out. A sitter!!
