  1. goal

GOAL - Northern Ireland 1-3 Norwaypublished at 19 mins

    Alexander Sorloth

Norway lead by two goals now.

It's more poor Northern Ireland defending as they allow Haitam Aleesami's excellent left-wing cross to find Alexander Sorloth at the far post. The big striker hits his volley into the ground and it bounces into the net.

As Gerry T said, Norway are having a lot of joy with long balls upfield. Northern Ireland are struggling with them.

They are not coping with the long balls. What they should be doing is getting one of the midfielders to step in front of the centre forward to help the young centre-backs out. Norway are having the lion's share of joy at the minute.

I'll say with some confidence this is the first game in which Paddy McNair and Erling Haaland have both scored.

That's something Northern Ireland will need to look at. As soon as they pick the ball up in midfield, they're looking for that diagonal to Sorloth, who's been knocking the ball down to Haaland. They're two big lads up there for Norway.

What will Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough make of what he has seen so far?

    Northern Ireland v Norway

    Mark Sterling
BBC Sport NI at Windsor Park

The tunes played during the players' pre-match warm-up have probably never been as welcome since football has had to be played behind closed doors.

They at least provide some sort of soundtrack to the build-up as kick-off draws ever-closer.

Not sure how much thought goes into the selection of the songs played on the stadium sound system, but it was hard not to see the irony when Ultrabeat's 'Pretty Green Eyes' came on.

"Never, ever be alone" goes the chorus. The home team always receive a massive boost when they play in what is usually a bouncing Windsor Park, with 18,000 fans creating an outstanding atmosphere.

They're not quite alone, of course, but the stadium will certainly feel so, so different without the Green and White Army.

Northern Ireland have a corner now. The big lads go forward but Stuart Dallas heads wide.

Um, excuse me - where have the goals gone? Four minutes since we've had one.

I've just seen a replay and a cross came in which was flicked on by a Norway player before Daniel Ballard deflected the ball into the path of Erling Haaland.

I didn't see the goal at the time because I was still telling you about the previous goal...

It's a great finish but Northern Ireland are guilty of not clearing their lines on the edge of their own box. It was that long, raking diagonal pass from Norway which is causing all the problems at the minute.

  14. goal

GOAL - Northern Ireland 1-2 Norwaypublished at 7 mins

    Erling Haaland

Are we watching the highlights or something? Three goals in seven minutes.

Erling Haaland smashes in an absolute thunderbolt of a volley from 20 yards which Bailey Peacock-Farrell has no chance of keeping out at all.

What a start to this game we're having! It's a long ball over the top. Paddy McNair of all people... he's been playing further up the pitch in these last few games. He reads the ball and is alive to it. It's an easy tap-in for him.

  16. goal

GOAL - Northern Ireland 1-1 Norwaypublished at 6 mins

    Paddy McNair

    WELL NOW! What a game.

Conor Washington latches onto a long ball forward and forces a save from Rune Jarstein. The Norway keeper can't hold it and Paddy McNair slams home the rebound.

    Northern Ireland 0-1 Norway

The hosts are on the ropes here. NI's Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard lets the ball bounce out of play... or so he thinks. But there is goal machine Erling Haaland who manages to get a shot on target from an impossible angle which the keeper saves.

That's two former Celtic players linking up for that goal - albeit they weren't in Scotland together.

What a great start to the game from Norway. The defender just gets isolated. It's a great first touch and Mohamed Elyounoussi just chests it down on to his right foot and bang!

  20. goal

GOAL - Northern Ireland 0-1 Norwaypublished at 2 mins

    Mohamed Elyounoussi

    Oh oh.

Northern Ireland trail after about 100 seconds. Stefan Johansen picks out the unmarked Mohamed Elyounoussi with a cross and he pokes a first-time volley past the goalkeeper from close range. Terrible defending as NI just switched off.
