  1. CLOSE!published at 68 mins

    England 0-1 Denmark

Kyle Walker allows Daniel Wass to run away from him in the box and he's almost punished. It's a thumping header from a fair way out but it's over the bar.

  2. 'A brilliant save'published at 21:10 British Summer Time 14 October 2020

What a save! Declan Rice does well initially, and Mason Mount powers a header towards the top corner from four yards and somehow Kasper Schmeichel's left fingertips keep it out. It's a brilliant save.

Should Schmeichel have been allowed to get anywhere near that though?

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 66 mins

    England 0-1 Denmark

Stunning save from Kasper Schmeichel to deny Mason Mount.

The corner is nodded on and Mount twists his head to direct it towards goal. He's only a few yards out and thinks he's scored but Schmeichel manages to claw it off the line somehow. It was almost behind him!

    Jack Grealish watch...

He's still sat down, looking moody, in a big puffer jacket. So he's not coming on imminently.

Southgate is so blinkered. He picks players who are palpably out of form for their clubs - Pickford, Maguire, Rashford - and plays Kane when he clearly is off the pace.

    Graham, Birmingham

I'm sorry but Denmark do not carry much of an attacking threat so why are we persisting still with two holding midfielders. Take a bit of a risk Gareth.

Reece James has been a positive for England tonight. He cuts inside from the right and drills it low but it's straight at the keeper.

He's showing Gareth Southgate what a threat he can be in the opposition half though.

Gary Timms: With 10 men, you want a solid base and then some attacking players that can take the ball in tight spaces and perhaps glide past a player or two... Nope, no one springs to mind.

Bob Hawkins: Bring Grealish on. The least he’ll do is draw fouls in & around the box.

    England 0-1 Denmark

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Wembley

Life is hard for England here. They are at a numerical disadvantage and are simply not firing up front. Harry Kane looks to be really labouring - which will obviously be his cue to score.

Marcus Rashford thinks he's blocked off on the left but he's just run straight into Simon Kraer. Denmark are starting to frustrate England with spells of long possession.

Coady and Mings are 2 centre backs who I have faith in. Without Maguire in there to muddy the waters, England actually look more organised in defence. All we need now is someone to pick up the ball and run with it. Grealish would be perfect. So, I expect to instead see DCL come on and England spend half an hour launching long balls.

Reece James slides in to get a good touch on a pass intended for Christian Eriksen. Harry Kane does well to hold it up and England then switch it around the back.

Conor Coady picks out Mason Mount but he can't link-up with Declan Rice and the visitors have the ball back in their own half.

Davey G: If Trent Alexander-Arnold is on the bench because he doesn't suit your system you need to have a long hard think about your system.

Calum Stone: I will forever love Southgate for what he did in the World Cup, but if he doesn’t stop these defensive lineups in games we should be dominating, he may have to go.

Declan Rice wins the ball back on the left as England press high. Marcus Rashford cuts inside and has a go from long range but he's never scoring from there.

Bit of a waste. No need to panic shoot at 55 mins.

I don't understand the Walker selection. He's our 4th best right back (behind TAA, Wan-Bissaka, R James) and not a centre back. Why is he in the team?!

Big fan of Tariq Lamptey. He's only just got himself into the under-21s frame but I don't think it will be long before we see him in the senior set-up.

It's interesting that Kyle Walker has got himself back into the side. Not that long ago it looked like he was totally out of the England picture but he's showing his versatility by coming out to this left-hand side.

We talk about competition in a lot of areas but England do seem to have a problem at left-back/left-wing back. There's Ben Chilwell but the competition mainly comes from the right footers.

Reece James finds Mason Mount on the right. He jinks inside and slips it to Declan Rice but the midfielder completely miscontrols it and loses possession.

Mount flaps his arms in frustration.

Simon Kjaer fizzes a long ball into the box which Yussuf Poulsen manages to get a head on. It's comfortable for Jordan Pickford.
