  3. 'England very comfortable'published at 20:41 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    HT: England 2-0 Iceland

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is very hard to analyse the game when you're so much superior than the opposition. England have been very comfortable, they have been allowed to do what they want to do and Iceland are struggling to defend in any point in the game, so you can only do what is in front of you and England have done that. All credit to them.

  5. 'England showing good reactions'published at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    England 2-0 Iceland

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's impressive the way England have won the ball back, you have to say. Good tenacity when they lose it - although Iceland aren't doing very much with it when they have had it. England are certainly showing good reactions to win it back and have a good turnover of possession.

  6. Postpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

Ten shots on goal, five on target. An impressive first half for England once they got the breakthrough.

Jose is on the phone asking if Eric and Harry can come off now please.

David Atkins: Foden is the future. Roving midfielder

Thought i'd mention Phil Foden. An assist, 2 shots on goal and a very assured performance for a young lad.

  9. 'Iceland hanging on'published at 20:31 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    England 2-0 Iceland

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

England are just too good at the moment for Iceland. Playing some nice football and passing it around. Iceland are hanging on here and England are just toying with them. Iceland are looking a little bit out of their depth.

Put the Trainspotting memes back in the box - Scotland trail. A cracking goal it is too.

  12. 'Grealish and Kane linking up well'published at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    England 2-0 Iceland

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Jack Grealish and Harry Kane are linking up well. Finding some nice little angles in and around that box. It isn't easy, it's very overloaded with players. Iceland are trying to get men back but they are just not able to cope and are unable to anticipate the passing and movement of England.

  13. Postpublished at 20:27 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

Harry Kane is on a run of 23 shots without scoring for England.

So close! Harry Kane never really seems to have this under control but dribbles right across the penalty area and snakes a shot wide...

  17. 'Walker puts himself under pressure'published at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    England 2-0 Iceland

    Matthew Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

For all Kyle Walker's ability, he does have these moments where he just makes these rash choices and just puts himself under pressure, because now he has to play the rest of the game without a mistake. If gets on the wrong side of someone or a mis-timed tackle, then all of a sudden you're looking at a red card, and that's something you'd like to see him eradicate from his game.
