  1. 'Mount used to playing deeper in midfield'published at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

England manager Gareth Southgate on Sky Sports: "It's important to build on the games we've had so far this autumn, it's an opportunity to look at some young players again, which is exciting.

"There's a message that every game is important and I was very impressed with the approach of the players over last few days. There is a lot of pressure on them to pull out, they haven't and that says a lot about them as a group."

On Mason Mount's position in the side: "Mason Mount is more used to playing there, deeper in midfield, with Phil Foden further forward, so we've gone that way round. Also a chance to see the interplay between him Harry [Kane] and Jack [Grealish] in particular. We need to get numbers high up the pitch, they will have a packed defence.

"We have a certain type of player available to us, we don't have as much speed available tonight so we have technicians. Short, sharp movements will break down hopefully the defence."

On Iceland: "Iceland will be very solid, we need to draw people out and drive the ball forward from the back. We have got to make sure we are defensively sound."

Northern Ireland v Romania (19:45 GMT)

Some breaking news this afternoon - Northern Ireland have been relegated from Nations League B after Uefa awarded Romania a 3-0 victory for their cancelled match against Norway.

Uefa made the ruling earlier on after Sunday's meeting between the sides was called off because of a positive Covid-19 test in the Norway camp.

It leaves Northern Ireland six points adrift of Romania, who they play at Windsor Park on Wednesday evening in their last Group B1 match.

England breezed to qualifying for Euro 2020, scoring 37 goals in eight games (THIRTY-SEVEN!).

This season the goals have dried up a bit though. They've managed just three goals in five games - and two of those have been penalties.

Is it bad that I hope England are awful tonight so Southgate might finally ditch the back three? We were so much better playing 4-3-3!

    Ben, Margate

Why is Kane playing, boy needs a rest or he'll be injured for the Euros when it really matters.

There's a bit more riding on this one.

Wales host Finland in their final Nations League match needing only a draw to win their group.

Winning the group would secure promotion to the top tier of the Nations League and potentially lead to a World Cup qualifying play-off.

John Wilkes: What's gone wrong? Playing out of form goalkeepers. Playing defensive mids and rbs in the centre of defence when we have in form cbs sat on the bench. Playing two holding midfielders against lesser teams

England midfielder Jack Grealish "thrives under pressure" and can handle the expectation on him, says manager Gareth Southgate.

The Aston Villa playmaker excelled in Sunday's 2-0 defeat by Belgium, which ended England's chances of reaching the Nations League finals next year.

    And he starts again tonight.

"Jack has had a super start to his international career; I think he will be able to handle the attention," Southgate said.

"We will succeed or fail as a team."

  12. Time goes by, so slowly...published at 18:44 Greenwich Mean Time 18 November 2020

    England v Iceland (19:45 GMT)

It's two years to the day since England beat Croatia 2-1 at a sunny, raucous Wembley to secure a place in the finals of the first Nations League.

Twenty-four long months on it's all coming to a conclusion a little differently.

Gareth Southgate has, for some reason, resisted the urge to rest his big(ger) guns for a dead rubber as the sides guaranteed to finish third and fourth in their group play it out in an empty stadium.

    What's gone wrong then?
