What Hibs don't have is a playmaker who can control things and take the ball from the centre-backs. Gogic is a good player but not creative

Stephen O'Donnell has come back on to make a couple of crucial clearances, but the former Kilmarnock full-back does not look to be running freely.

You hope he is not doing himself more damage out there.

O'Donnell hasn't played for five months but looks fit and has done well in getting up and down Motherwell's right flank all game

    Ouch!published at 60mins

    Hibernian 0-0 Motherwell

New Motherwell signing Stephen O'Donnell is down injured after blocking a shot from Martin Boyle.

It looked like the right-back twisted his knee as he fell to the ground.

That is not good for his Scotland prospects after a summer of kicking his heels waiting to find a new club.

    Hibernian 0-0 Motherwell

    Quote Message

Hibs have changed the system to a 4-2-3-1. Nisbet has gone wide right, with Horgan just behind the striker to give them three central players

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 18:34 British Summer Time 15 August 2020

    Hibernian 0-0 Motherwell

Motherwell get the second half under way in Edinburgh.

Hibs are on course to go top of the Premiership, but they would prefer to do so after a win rather than a draw but have been second best so far.

  11. Four away wins in a row?published at 18:33 British Summer Time 15 August 2020

So that's three away wins in the Premiership so far this afternoon.

Will there be another at Easter Road?

Motherwell have certainly threatened more than their hosts so far.

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson: "I'm delighted to get the win. I'm a little bit disappointed with how we played in the first half. We didn't use the ball well enough and didn't react to second balls.

"We lost a really sloppy goal and Rugby Park is a really hard place to come back from. I thought the lads moved the ball really well against the 10 men and got it into wider areas really quickly.

"All credit to Michael [O'Halloran]. He got sent off against Dundee United, but this week he kept going to the end."

  15. 'We crumbled' - Dyer dejected by collapsepublished at 18:24 British Summer Time 15 August 2020

    FT: Kilmarnock 1-2 St Johnstone

Kilmarnock manager Alex DyerImage source, SNS

Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer: "We were comfortable in the game. The sending-off came and it changed the game. It gave them impetus to get at us. Individual errors have cost us.

"We had a good first half. In the second half, we came out and were controlling the game, got the goal and we were fine.

"And then we went to bits - after the sending-off, we crumbled. Even when they got it back to 1-1, we should have seen the game out. We've ended the game with nothing, so it's very disappointing."

Let's look back at some of the reaction from the early three Premiership games.

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin: "We had six or seven very, very good opportunities. Thankfully, we were able to take one of them.

"We could've certainly made life a whole lot more comfortable than what it ended up being.

"Great credit to my goalkeeper and the boys at the back for digging in and seeing out the result.

"If you'd have offered me 1-0 before the game, I'd have snapped you're hand off."

Jordan White thought he had scored for Motherwell

Motherwell will count themselves unlucky not to be ahead at the break.

A fine save from Ofir Marciano denied Callum Lang and then Jordan White had the ball in the net only for the referee to rule it out.

It would have been the striker's first Well goal - and would have completed the set, as he has already scored in Scotland's other three divisions.

Instead, he is still waiting to break his Premiership duck and Hibs head coach Jack Ross will be looking for his side to improve after the break.

  18. Postpublished at 42mins

    Hibernian 0-0 Motherwell

Motherwell are playing the more cultured and creative football and only a last ditch challenge by Ryan Porteous prevents Allan Campbell pulling the trigger inside a crowded penalty box as the visitors continue to probe.
