    Hibs' injury-time win moves them back level with Rangers at the top of the Premiership

    The league table makes good viewing for Hibs fans this evening as they remain neck-and-neck with leaders Rangers.

    Aberdeen are creeping in the right direction after back-to-back wins.

    You'll have to wait until next weekend for your next Premiership fix but Celtic, Aberdeen and Motherwell are involved in European action on Wednesday and Thursday.

    A bad first-half call from the linesman did come to their rescue but that's three clean sheets in a row for Hibs, who managed to regain a foothold in the game after switching to a back three midway through the second half.

    Paul Hanlon, Ryan Porteous and Paul McGinn were all solid in the face of fierce pressing and, of course, Porteous and Hanlon were in the thick of it for the penalty award.

    Hibernian head coach Jack Ross tells Sky Sports: "We had to make changes to try and affect the game. We had as many positive players on the pitch at the end as we could but we still weren't playing fluidly.

    "We speak about finding a way to win a match. What won us the game was that resilience.

    "We are finding ways to pick up points and long may that continue.

    "We will get better. We have areas to improve upon but certainly it's been a fantastic start for us."

    Hibs will have a look at the league table and they will be smiling, but I'm positive Jack Ross will play this down. What he will be pleased about though is his side's start. They have tightened up at the back and Gogic has helped with that, he's made an impact. But he won't be getting too carried away

  7. 'Hard to take' for Saints boss Davidson

    "It's difficult to asses what went on there, I'm not sure what I can and can't say," is the response from a slightly bewildered sounding St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson.

    On the goal disallowed in the first half, he tells BBC Sportsound: "It certainly looked onside, but you've just got to take it and get on with it.

    "In the second half we got tighter, won a lot second balls and put them under pressure. We played with tempo and aggression.

    "In the last two games we've probably deserved four points. It's hard to take."

    Davidson is reluctant to discuss the decisive, late penalty, saying: "I think there's a lot of factors other than the decision, there are hands everywhere. He (Liam Gordon) gives the referee the opportunity to make a decision."

    And on Liam Craig's red card after the final whistle, he says the experienced midfielder "should know better than that".

    It's gut-wrenching for St Johnstone. That disallowed goal will cut deep for Callum Davidson. On reflection I don't think Hibs deserved to win the game. A draw would have been fair. Jack Ross will be absolutely delighted

    Spare a thought for St Johnstone. That's back-to-back 1-0 defeats at home, with late goals on both occasions.

    They had a legitimate goal ruled out in the first half and were by far the more menacing side in the second half, without really testing the goalkeeper.

    When he goes off to confront a Hibs player, Beaton loses his patience and shows the St Johnstone midfielder a second yellow card.

    A header from Alex Gogic header rattles against the post, with Elliot Parish beaten all ends up. The ball is quickly looped back into the danger zone by Gogic, who is not hanging about lamenting his luck, and Liam Gordon gets too tight on Ryan Porteous. With the weight of contact, the Hibs defender falls in a heap with team-mate Paul Hanlon and now the visitors have a great chance to take home maximum points.
