It should be some finish to this game. Aberdeen should have been out of sight, but that Livingston goal will give the visitors plenty of added belief, and perhaps cause a few nerves among the home ranks.

  5. Hibs keen to make 'statement of intent'published at 16:30 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    St Johnstone v Hibernian (16:30)

Hibs head coach Jack Ross explains striker Kevin Nisbet's absence, telling BBC Scotland Sportsound: "He picked up a hamstring injury in training. It's not too serious but might keep him out for a couple of games.

A Hibs victory would send them level on points with leaders Rangers, and Ross added: "It's about building on the start we've had.

"This is a huge game for us. We know the statement of intent we can make if we win here."

  6. Hosts out to frustrate confident Hibs - Davidsonpublished at 16:30 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    St Johnstone v Hibernian (16:30)

St Johnstone manager Callum Davidson says "it's time to change" his side's record of failing to win their last 12 top-flight Sunday matches.

Davidson tells BBC Scotland Sportsound: "We played quite well on Thursday and made it difficult for Aberdeen but were let down by our decision-making in the final third.

"We want to put that right today. Hibs' confidence will be high so we've got to frustrate them and limit their chances."

  7. 'Taylor goes with the wrong foot'published at 16:29 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Aberdeen 2-1 Livingston

It's great play from Jack Fitzwater but Ash Taylor goes with the wrong foot. Just go with your left leg. You go from Robby McCrorie's great save just before where the game would be over then Livingston go straight up and score

  8. goal

Jack Fitzwater shows a deft touch for a big defender as he skips away from a couple of challenges and swings in a peach of a cross from the right.

Scott Pittman is the first man to it, prodding it past Joe Lewis from close range.

  9. 'Second save is incredible'published at 16:26 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Aberdeen 2-0 Livingston

    Willie Miller
Former Scotland defender on BBC Sportsound

    Quote Message

Robby McCrorie shouldn't have had a chance with the first one, Marley Watkins has got to bury that. But the second save is incredible, what a save that is

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:26 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Aberdeen 2-0 Livingston

How on earth has Marley Watkins not opened his Aberdeen account?

The big striker races clear from the right but his low shot is kept out by the outstretched leg of Robby McCrorie.

Moments later, Jonny Hayes floats in a great cross from the left and Watkins heads it down from five yards. It looks a certain goal but McCrorie somehow bats it away.

  11. 'Ferguson the main man for Aberdeen'published at 16:21 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Aberdeen 2-0 Livingston

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

Livingston now have some big questions to answer.

After losing the midfield battle as the first half went on, Aberdeen are winning it since the break, with Lewis Ferguson pulling the strings now.

Ferguson won, then converted the penalty, and is now really getting stuck in all over the park.

  12. 'Weird decision to take Wright off'published at 16:20 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Aberdeen 2-0 Livingston

    Richard Foster
Partick Thistle defender on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Aberdeen are so on top right now it feels like a bit of a weird decision to take Scott Wright off. I feel like there's more goals in this for Aberdeen

  13. McGeouch on for Wrightpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    Aberdeen 2-0 Livingston

Scott Robinson pings a dangerous ball across the face of the Aberdeen goal and a stretching Scott Pittman can't quite get there.

The hosts then withdraw goalscorer Scott Wright, with Dylan McGeouch on for his first outing of the season.

Is that the Dons shutting up shop?

  14. Saints don't like Sundayspublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    St Johnstone v Hibernian (16:30)

St Johnstone have not won in any of their last 12 Scottish Premiership matches played on Sunday (D5 L7).

New manager Callum Davidson would have been reasonably pleased to take four points from the first three games but he wasn't happy after Thursday's 1-0 home defeat to Aberdeen, lamenting a lack of quality in the final third.

Will we see a response from the Perth side today?

  15. Another away day success on the cards?published at 16:16 British Summer Time 23 August 2020

    St Johnstone v Hibernian (16:30)

Hibs are unbeaten in their last five visits to Perth and enjoyed a thumping 4-1 victory at McDiarmid Park last season, with Christian Doidge banging in a hat-trick just a few days after previous manager Paul Heckingbottom was sacked.

St Johnstone have been better on the road in this fixture too, winning two of their last three games at Easter Road.

An outstanding second goal for Aberdeen!

It's a long way back for the visitors now.
